I have to take a shot of this tree every time I go to the Bird Sanctuary for a walk. I haven't been here since before the flood in 2013. Only a small portion of the area is open as there is still a lot of debris hiding in the area. I live to the right (the golf course is on the other side of the river.. you can see how the river "ate" away at the banks).

Some of our too-many horses. For a long time we've had a young chestnut mare and an ancient, long-since-retired pasture-buddy mare. However about a month ago my wife decided to move the young horse to a nearby riding facility so she could train and ride it more regularly. That left the old mare alone and lonely, so she asked around, and we got the above two for pasture board. Then a friend moved back to town, and needed somewhere to keep her one of her horses, and just after that the young chestnut mare got a cold, and the barn owner asked us to move it home so the other horses didn't get sick. It was sort-of working with two horses in the front pasture, two in the new back pasture, and the sick horse isolated in the paddock in between, but then one of the horses above figured out how to get out of the back pasture making things even more of a problem.

@OutsidePlaying eastern bluebirds, right? my pair is working on their third nesting. have you thought about putting some Blink cameras in your nest boxes? they're great for monitoring and very user-friendly! this is a screen shot from a video clip.

As usual, spring is coming in fits and starts. We had 60 mph winds yesterday and then the temps dropped down into the 20s overnight and this morning. But still things are greening up.

murraysmom, we had a full fledged blizzard here last night. It had been raining then snowing since late afternoon, but by a little after 9pm. the wind and snow began big time. It was a white-out for the cars on the highway beyond, they had their flashers on. It continued for 45min. then the wind finally died down. This morning there was at least 3" of snow on the ground and the road out front was ice. Now temp is going up so ice is gone and I see green patches coming out from beneath the snow. The daffodils are flattened.

The almanac had called for a blizzard at the end of March, so they weren't far off.

Fierce winds here last night brought 23 degrees and an inch of snow this morning. Ugh!

78 degrees and a bit more than 1/2" of rain yesterday!
Grand Case, Saint Martin. We'll be there again on April 16.

Just got home. 8 hour drive... and really nice and warm out, but my house is cold. It was 81 when I crossed over to Oklahoma.

Schoolhouse, your weather (and Gazania too) sounds like a nightmare. The only saving grace is that now it disappears pretty quickly. I'm glad I didn't have to be out in that!!!
