Job interview questions
Comments (3)I would say "Yes. to the best of my ability, or I certainly will try".I wouldn't say, "Oh, yes! or I'll try, or some other "wishy washy" answer. A resonate "Yes" would tell me you are too eager, no or maybe, would not be good. Think positive and smile but don't over due it. Good luck. Of course, you will dress up a bit and don't appear in sneakers and blue jeans. You will shake hands if the interviewer extends their's first and of course say good morning or afternoon, and thank them for the interview when you leave....See More1st (teaching) job interview in 10yrs (and I'm scared to death!)
Comments (16)Well, they just called today and I didn't get the job. Boo hoo but just teeny tiny boo hoo because I wasn't really sure I wanted to go back to work. This job this time next year would have been ideal. I had a really good talk with the principal when she called to tell me and the other woman with all the experience got the job. She was really encouraging about applying for future positions which is very reassuring. In the meantime, I can actually have time all to myself for the first time in 8yrs! I just realized when I was contemplating the unruliness of my hair that I can actually make a hair appt without calling 3 different people trying to arrange someone to watch one or both of the kids. OMG, I can sign up for a yoga class! And DH is satisfied because I did actually try to get work. I've got calls out to a couple of teacher friends to see what they recommend for getting some more experience teaching reading (the principal said this would be a good thing to work on). So all in all, I think this will work out for the best. I can still substitute and tutor for extra cash - we won't be getting that new car but that can definately wait. Thanks again everyone for keeping me company during this experience. I really appreciated your good wishes and support....See MoreJob Interview for DS ... he just left X your fingers!! lol
Comments (19)well, they have 3 more interviews this week with experienced trainers. They said he really "knows his stuff",and he was really good about motivating them to do more than they thought they could. She said he needs to be louder and a little more "personable". She said he needs to talk to the "trainee" about things other than the training session. He is a huge (6'6" 275 lbs muscle), bald head, and could be a little scary looking to some I guess, and he is very quiet! LOL and Shy. If he makes it past this interview, they will have one more practical interview next week. He should know by Monday. He's not a talker, schmoozer, (totally opposite of me! lol) so that will take a little work, but I know he can do it. Man, I hope he can get the next interview! His whole life, he has had a hard time making a lot of friends. He is like his Dad, after they speak with some one, I will ask them something like, "how is their job hunt going?" Or, "What happened to their daughter that was in the hospital?" and both of them will say, I didn't ask, if they wanted me to know they would have told me! LOL For years I've told them, no, that's not true. You need to ask questions for people to know that you are interested in them and their lives. DH went out duck hunting ALL season long, many years ago, with an old friend (that we hadn't seen or heard from in a year). Then 3 weeks later I spoke with his wife when she called to tell me she had her baby. uh, WHAT? I didn't even know she was pregnant. Neither did DH! lol OMG>.. I asked him what exactly did they talk about out there for hours, oh, hunting and fishing! sheesh! lol...See MoreWhat does one wear to a job interview these days?? Need help fast!
Comments (46)Well I'm done with the first part. I don't want to say too much in case someone from the firm reads this forum. But I could have definitely gone casual -- I was immediately shown to a conference room and given the test. The only employee I saw was a guy wearing a t shirt and cargo shorts who met me at the door and handed me the test and collected it at the end. And the test was surprisingly hard given the level of position I applied for so who knows if there will even be an interview. Oh well -- even if it nothing comes of it, it was definitely an interesting way to dip my toes in the job market....See MoreAlisande
