Need help Decorating Modern Condo (Especially the Bedroom!)
Comments (22)I might get a table for the kitchen, the one in the picture is actually a desk with some electrical equipment in it. So I don't want to put it in the kitchen. I really like the orange or a pale blue as well! I saw an apartment with similar design to my condo and they had a light blue accent. It worked well, though I really like that orange... I'm definitely thinking the same thing about the rug. I'm going to keep an eye out for one, and for some redone sleeper sofas per april's suggestion. I haven't seen them before, but if I can find one that would be perfect. As for the position of the TV, I'm not sure which I like more. Part of the reason that I have it on the wall I do is that you can view it while making food in the kitchen as well. I've gone back and forward myself with it. I could really use some suggestions for the bedroom everyone, it's so white and bland currently :/....See MoreSuggestions for making iron bed fit in a modern decor
Comments (52)Great, thanks! Aprilneverends, though I do love that armoire it is a bit too big for the room...I knew that as soon as we moved in. It doesn't leave much room between the end of the bed and the front of it to get to the left side of the bed. The dresser we're looking at is about 6 inches smaller in depth which will really help with moving around in the room. So I think it's for the best for me and the armoire to part ways and it can go to someone else who will love it as well hopefully....See MoreWhat decorating style makes you think "old lady"?
Comments (175)I thought about that distinction..travel and experiences vs things..to me, it's also not either or, it's both. I traveled less that I wanted to, planned to, yet quite a lot; most of things I love were bought or found during trips, whether several hour trip, or travel to faraway places. So that things I love they remind me of travel, experiences, certain people in my life..and travelling somewhere allows me to experience, to see people I love, to meet new ones, and to see and appreciate many wonderful things as well. Not all of them I'll be able to snatch and take with me, but I'll remember them. and most likely I'll snatch something small too:) So to me, it's two sides of a coin..the coin being, well..a journey. And each journey will be unique of course; but the point is to have it..recognize it...try to have a blast when possible, since once upon a time that journey will come to an end, and hard to know what the next one will feel like. Probably very unlike anything we imagine. I'm not afraid of becoming old lady(yes, I'm vain and shallow nevertheless lol, and would like to still look like I'm 28..))..I'm more afraid of not having a chance to become one..:) That'd be a pity.. And I hope to live to see my grandchildren one day, to love and to hold, you know, and I'm pretty sure they won't find me or my place ridiculous:) Funny, quirky, strange, different from what it will be(what it will be then?)-maybe. Well it's all cool. We don't take our journeys alone; others continue it, and they'll take from ours so much, even if no things will be left, no actual place, and very little memories....See MoreArt/Decor Suggestions Please
Comments (69)P Banos: Thank you for your thoughts; I agree, I initially wanted a much larger piece there!! I just couldn't figure out how to make it work with the lamps. They would end up blocking the art. I can't move them much further apart because the right one would end up right at the corner of that wall, which would look off. Is it okay to have them block the art in this scenario? I'll photoshop three examples (same random painting I happened to screenshot) ... you tell me where I'm wrong in size/placement (keeping in mind the lamps can't be moved apart much further); do any of these work? Largest size, not centered over sofa but centered on the wall... Still large, but a bit smaller to allow for centering over sofa (still blocked by lamps)... Narrower width, portrait orientation (width would have to be just a bit wider than the current painting to somewhat fit between lamps)... Thoughts?...See Morenamarie
