Can someone tell me the name of two plants

I inherited two house plants that I don't know what they are and have been watering but not sure what proper care they really need. Can someone help??

The first possibly Beaucarnea recurvata - Ponytail Palm.

2nd Dracaena I believe.

Agree. D. marginata, specifically. *Please* don't use the watering globe thing in either pot, except decoratively. It looks like some of the soil in the PT palm pot is moist, some is dry. That can cause difficulties. Try to water thoroughly, then allow some time to dry. Do your pots have holes in the bottom for excess water to escape?

There are many discussion about both plants in house plant forum. The PT palm likes tons of light, some direct sun if possible. The other is happier with a bit less, but never a dark corner. The info in these 2 posts can get you off to a good start:

I know diddly about New Zealand mosses, but this looks to be a pretty good website and you can ask questions about native NZ plants there - http://www.nzpcn.org.nz (New Zealand Plant Conservation Network). I hit "Native Flora" under "Quick Search" over on the right and typed "moss" into the common name field and it came up with 2 pages of hits. Sadly, a lot of the plants don't have pictures, but if you click on the plants name, it gives an extensive description of the plant.

Thankyou Gardengal. Once again you come to my rescue. My garden center tries to tell me that photo is salvia and I knew it could not be by the amounts of bloom in our cold weather. So thank you for giving me the name. Now I can go look for it.
