Especially when I have to reference a website that explains it. I lived in florida for a very long time and never understood it when I lived there either. If you want to know more specifically about the areas I lived in, does this tell you? South Florida Space Coast Treasure Coast First Coast Nature Coast Gold Coast Central Florida Bay Area Southwest Florida all names created by the media. Can you figure out where I was or what I was growing??!! I think the reason this all pisses me off so much is because when I was living in "the treasure coast" and two hurricanes hit 2 weeks apart, the territory was claimed by both the south florida stations and the central florida stations. It was just to the south of Vero Beach (see how that example all comes into the picture now!?) and after the storm there was little mention of the aftermath in my area on the south florida stations nor was there on the central florida stations. It was ground zero for both hurricanes, most local piss ant radio stations were off the air so anyone in the community was basically alone in the dark with no information. So it makes me mad when the media creates bogus community names to make viewers feel like they are all apart of it and to keep potential new stations from getting licensed when in fact they are only servicing a rather small geographic area that cannot be described by ambiguous terms like north/central/south/east/west. Central Florida = Orlando. PERIOD. Tampa Bay = Hillsborough and Pinellas. ONLY. South florida = Miami, Fort Lauderdale and under certain circumstances, palm beach county. North Florida = Jacksonville. THAT's IT. Southwest Florida = Fort Myers. AND ONLY Fort Myers. West Florida = Pensacola. This is really what the media means when they say they "have ___insert bogus market name here___ covered". The people of florida have been brainwashed into used these bogus community names in their business names and other parts of everyday life. People on internet chats and forums use it because it's anonymous. No need to be anonymous here guys.

I had another thought too. Would trimming off the new flowers and buds divert energy to the existing fruit and maybe get them to grow and ripen a little faster? I'm planning on an experiment. We have 2 Cayennes with green fruit, 2 Jalapenos, and 2 "mystery hots". I was going to let one of each just keep going as best it can, and I was going to trim the flowers and new buds off the others and just watch 'em and see what happens. - Mark

Thanks for the feedback, very sage advise from you both. pillog, you make a good point with the new school oven insulation -- two large 'toaster ovens' certainly don't sound very appealing... or big for that matter :) in the end, you're so right... go to the store and see for ourselves... now, where to find a store with double 24" ovens, maybe sears... hmmm. leel, splitting the diff is totally logical however we're going to use ikea cabs and they of course don't make a 27" and we don't want to fill a 30" cab down to fit our 27" ovens... so if we go bigger, we'll do 30" since that's what size the cab will be. thanks so much!

We set two daily high temp records this week here in KC. In some ways I look forward to hot, dry weather -- just to see how some of my natives like lead plant hold up in comparison to everyone else's stuff. The downside is that my interest in getting out into the garden is pretty much nil when it reaches the 90s. I need to work on getting up earlier, get out there at 5am maybe. At least ten years ago I started thinking I'd better move north or west to the sort of climate I prefer. I've done it temporarily a couple of times, out to northern California and to Oregon, but I keep coming back. All my friends are here -- and it's a hell of a lot cheaper.
