question about Bosch dishwasher cycle time

I have had a perfect experience for 8 yrs. All of a sudden the time shows 175 minutes !! Not the usual 81 or so. No changes made at all in our use. Start hot water in faucet, no garbage disposal , clean filters, use rinse aid...nothing has changed. Also it stops with one minute left and won't go on and end. Help !! cross posted to appliances

I wanted to post back that the problem is fixed !! It cost $100 service call from our plumber but it was worth it. He used his special de-scaling product and a pump and hooked it up outside to our demand water heater. He said that is was full of scale, had not ever been cleaned in the 8 years we have had it. We knew it wasn't working right as the heating was erratic and would have bursts of very hot water. Anyway it took 2 cycles of running the dishwasher after he cleaned and each cycle got shorter and shorter till it is back in the upper 70 min, area for the cycle which is where it used to be . So we are well pleased. Hope this helps at least some other folks who think their Bosch cycle is too long. c

Thanks "dadoes" That does not seem to be working for LG....they are getting killed for motor failures! As I understand it the repairmen are stating that the motors are too small or not strong enough to pump the water out and are burning out within a years time. One reviewer says he is on his third motor under warranty!!! Really glad I did my research, because I had my mind really set on one of the LG models. 15 gallons of water!!! OMG!! That is a lot of water!!

CME10AE: I think that for certain Bosch models--including yours--there is a "Smart Control" feature that senses soil levels and water temperature and adjusts the time for the loads. This is supposed to be an energy saving feature. See p.18 of your manual under "Wash Cycle Information." For our own Bosch d/w (different model) I had noticed that the load times would increase or decrease from time to time based on how heavy or light our recent loads had been. Also, if I turn the water heater down while away for vacation, when I come back I might not reset it to be exactly where it had been previously. The d/w times would then vary. So this is a long-winded way of suggesting that your d/w is probably fine. As for my Bosch d/w, it's finally given up the ghost after ~7 or 8 years. Switching to a Miele....

I looked at the installation manual and I did not see anything out of the ordinary for this, only that it has its own supply hose already installed at the washer end. There appears to be nothing different about this hose at the end where it attaches to the water supply, though I would check the threading. Otherwise, you should be able to get a hose that matches the threads of the Bosch hose and your hot water supply from Home Depot or Lowes. The outlet should be the same only that you may need a small piece of pipe and clamps to connect the two (female) ends together. You might have to investigate something automotive or marine.

Thanks for letting us know. My Bosch is coming up to 6 years old so I will keep an eye on the length of the cycle.
