Comments (14)No grandeur here. Todays issue of my growing up years hometown newspaper has this picture and article on the front page. Country churches were established to provide a place for worship in close proximity to the residents scattered around a certain area. For instance, the Oak Ridge Union Church has served families in the Erhard, McCartney and Oak Ridge areas since 1906 when some men of different denominations determined the need for a central place of worship for everyone; a place where those from various religious persuasions would feel comfortable. As people have moved from the country to towns and cities, and travel is more efficient than the days of horse and buggy, country churches would seem unnecessary. 10 years agoHad to :D about your "lap holder downer". And Nicole's "sheets tester" is giving a look I'd more expect from Toothless, the dragon. Alas, no pets here anymore. So I'll share a photo of a bromeliad from my garden. It has been getting a lot of winter sun, so the red is nice right now. As you can see, it lives under some pines--I was too lazy, and wary of the spines, to clean the centers.
10 years agoWow, what nice pictures today!! Nicole and Gazania, your animals are so cute! Karen, your town is adorable! Is it very big? It certainly is picturesque!! I didn't take mine. I found it and thought of you, Nicole. I'm sure you can see why. :)
