Had to :D about your "lap holder downer". And Nicole's "sheets tester" is giving a look I'd more expect from Toothless, the dragon. Alas, no pets here anymore. So I'll share a photo of a bromeliad from my garden. It has been getting a lot of winter sun, so the red is nice right now. As you can see, it lives under some pines--I was too lazy, and wary of the spines, to clean the centers.

Thank you, murraysmom. It was originally purchased as a single in a 6" pot. The parent plant flowered and died (normal) and these are the three "pups" that sprouted from the base. Together they are a little more than 3.5' across and 19" tall. I purchased others at the same time that are 4'+ sized clumps now.

I have one of those lap holder downer too and if my sheets come out of the dryer and sit down somewhere for a minute there will be a small furry dog buried in side like a burrito! Cute pictures!

I had a bromeliad like that, it got huge, kept having pups. I just gave it to my neighbor it will look great next to her pond.
