What a nice compliment Robo. I thoroughly enjoyed the little clips I saw this morning on the news. We're on vacation so our TV viewing is erratic. The 2 couples were quite photogenic. And how nice to see the presidential daughters at their first State Dinner. I'll have to go online to watch the speeches by both Trudeau and Obama.

Yes, it's being covered, although overshadowed by last night's GOP debate.

The New York Times is focusing on the shared issues of the two countries, as well as the collegiality of Trudeau and Obama. Even jokingly called it a "bromance" in a tweet.

Only thing I've seen, so far, was about Michelle Obama's gown.

Snore.

What a vapid nation the US has become.

I really appreciate Pres. Obama's keen intellect and very sly use of said intellect. He has foresight and wisdom, something we don't see much of in our politicians down here any longer.

Sigh.

In one word the coverage was "refreshing". Wish there had been more of it.

The photos of these two gorgeous couple was very reminiscent of Camelot. As is said in the "south", the White House really "put on the dog".

We got a lot of coverage here in the D.C. region, from the sartorial fireworks to the elegant floral arrangements to the cuisine. Yes, I read about in in the Style section! I'm a wonk, what can I say?

Whenever there is a particularly polarizing Republican candidate poised to possibly take over the White House, whiney Hollywood types always threaten to leave. Unfortunately, they never seem to pull the trigger.

It's better for Canada that these fickle divas stay here in America and cry on their big bags of money anyway ;-)

It was amazingly pleasant to hear a positive, happy, polite news story regarding politics! They all look great.

Canada will be even more appealing to many people :-)

I was just watching a clip on Good Morning America. I usually don't care so much for what Michelle O picks out, but thought this gown looked pretty good on her. And Mrs Trudeau looks great in the purple. I also was happy to see the daughters attending and thought they looked very nice as well. It appears the visit went very well.

Oh, I loved her first inaugural gown, OP, which was by the same designer who did this gown.

I thought both the gowns were interesting and a little out of the ordinary. I can't wear a strapless gown now, let alone at 52 and 2 kids.

PS, both Canadian designers! I think was very classy of Michelle Obama to pick Jason Wu for this occasion.

I loved Michelle's gown. Not so much the First Lady of Canada's gown, but those are not colors that I like.

She wears a lot of pink. She's an interesting character...in January she had a very cringingly embarrassing moment. But you can't say she isn't earnest.

I really like Michelle's gown, but I look horrible in strapless, even when I was thinner. So, I admire anyone who can pull it off. Everyone looks great, though!

A few years ago, Justin Trudeau was in a charity boxing match with one of our Conservative Senators, to raise money for cancer research. I bet against him, as he's pretty slim and was the heavy underdog, lacking the military background and martial arts expertise of his opponent. But he paraphrased Rocky Balboa in the movie of the same name, saying that boxing is not about who can hit harder, but about who can take more hits and keep going. He indeed proved that stamina can be more effective than brute strength, and after sustaining a pummelling first half, managed to reverse things and win the match. I hate that I remember when Justin was born. I remember his parents making a state visit to the US with him in tow. Lots of media coverage then too. Same styles are practically in fashion too, lol!
