HAVE: Over 400 Varieties of Tomato Seeds
Comments (35)I am wanting to do a trade. I would LOVE to try your: SOLAR FLARE variety and only need about 5 seeds. I have these varieties that I did not notice on your list: Burgess Lemon (only 5 seeds from Wintersown and several years old) Hovarth (only 2 seeds left from Wintersown and several year old) Peacevine Cherry (10 seeds from Kenyon Organics, probably 2 years old) God Love (5 seeds from Kenyon Organics, probably 2 years old) Abe Lincoln (about 10 from Livingston Seed Co, less than year old) San Marzano (about 10 from Organic Ferry-Morse, less that year old) I am rather new to this forum and unsure how to proceed. Is there a way you can message me to exchange addresses? I can send a SASE....See MoreMONSANTO- again
Comments (39)I guess I no longer totally believe in "the system". Why is it that the STOCKHOLDERS get preference over the individual who decides to farm the way their forefathers did? Why is the corporate decision made by Monsanto, Syngenta et. al. to create a non-natural GMO, allowed to override that which those gardening/farming have planted before them? Why is is OK for a group of stock holders to be the case for allowing GMOs to exist at the potential risk of an entire global population? In Florida, way back when the US ACOE (Army Corps of Engineers) decided the Everglades were too wet, it was decided to interfere with Mother Nature and crop dust the Maleleuca quinquenervia tree (tea tree) there to reduce the level of H2O as this tree is a great lover of water. There are now acres of trees so dense birds cannot navigate through them and they are an invasive exotic. It's pollen is akin to talcum powder in fineness and it's spread is only capped by freeze zones fortunately. I wish the same could be said by GMOs. Allowing the pollen to be released into the region in which it is planted is to force others to grow the same stuff they have created. Pollen stays in the atmosphere, soil and compromises all other plants of the same genetic strain. I do not agree to have my free choice dictated by others who are beholden to some group of STOCKHOLDERS or their corporate bottom line. They are infringing on the rights of me and all others in their effort to procure and monetarily corral a choice of plant or pig they decide they have genetically 'corrected' for the 'good of humanity'. If you are so inclined to read.....the Wiki-leaks article should clue you in to the relationship between the US government and Monsanto GMOs. Not hype, just what the ambassador stated. I find this whole situation tantamount to dereliction of duty to serve and protect the people they have been sworn to same. (in regards to any government body that preserves and protects a corporate body who serves a group of STOCK HOLDERS over the general public)....See MoreSuddenly lost use of rear legs.
Comments (91)it sounds to me like she was probably hit by a car. no matter how long you've had her and how much you love her, you need to do what is right for her. dogs instinctively hide pain so if she is showing obvious pain, you can bet it's excruciatingly painful. all you can do is call a vet and plead your case. don't expect much from them as they aren't a free clinic. if they have some compassion, maybe they would agree to euthanize her without charging a lot of money. from your description, i would suspect a broken back and most likely some internal injuries. if you can't afford to have her evaluated and treated (if that's even possible given her dire condition), at least have the decency to end her suffering. sorry if that sounds abrupt but you can't just let her die a painful and scary death....See MoreOlder Pets
Comments (25)I've thought about it with mine too, but realize that people can what if it till the cows come home and it really won't change things. Most people who have pets dread their loss, including me. I tend to get attached to animals and probably more than I should and know how hard it is to lose them. And I know better than to think you just "replace" one any more than you replace a friend, but that's not to say that if a friend dies you won't allow yourself to have another friend. Fact is, we don't know when they'll die. Our pets could outlive us! And considering the quirks developed in my friend from her traumatic past I really wonder how many people could take her in should something happen to me. (BRB) OK, I'm back. Had to take a little "time out". She just came asking if I'd play "red dot" with her a little bit. When a 10 year old critter wants to run around for a while, I won't turn her down. Plus she can use the exercise. Convince yourself to limit worrying about something over which you have no control. Also convince yourself that you're not "replacing" her. Each human or critter friend is different and unique and don't be ashamed that, like people, you have favorites. That doesn't mean you don't care about each. That I rescued a cat who was literally hours away from "the needle" is not an affront to the memory of my dead dog or other dead cats. I still have the memories of them and I wonder if I don't have a couple of them hanging our reminding me of them. That tennis ball was in the cabinet and the dog biscuit in the middle of the floor was not overlooked by me for all these years. Excuse me, I have to go. There's another "red dot" request....See Moretneddog
