Helpful to have shield protective coating on shower glass door?
Comments (14)Yes, I was a slave to two bathrooms, and a family of teens, who had no clue what a squeegee was... Lucky me, a year ago, Annah my new neighbor, is in a business that cleans glass on commercial and residential properties. I asked her if she may have any recommendations for my ongoing battle with my shower and bath glass. She recommended a new product "Crystal Clear Shower Glass Enhancement". She said there are many sealers that have been on the market 15 years or more, old technology, all similar in performance, and needing revitalizing or reapplication. Lori has been growing her business working with large hotel's shower and bath glass doing the application of Crystal Clear to save them cleaning time and no longer the need for strong chemical cleaners. Our Kit was very complete and includes everything my husband and I needed to restore the glass to new, and apply the GlassGuard sealer, all in about an hour. It has been over a year of freedom from what was my dreaded weekly battle. I found Crystal Clear Shower Glass Enhancement Kit is now on sale on Amazon.com. Hope this helps....See MoreHELP! Clear Glass Shower Doors w/ hard water stains
Comments (109)I tried every suggestion in this post and nothing worked for me. I live in New Hampshire and it makes sense stains will be different depending on where you live. Finally, I found the solution ...a pumice stone. There are several brands available online. I found this one in my local grocery and hardware store, and it's pretty inexpensive. Just use with water ..it didn't take a lot of muscle....just a little patience but it worked beautifully. I had gone so far as to get a quote for replacement shower doors and stumbled on this product just before I was ready to place the order. So glad I tried it because new doors were more than $800. Just wanted to share in case it helps someone else!...See MoreShowerglass - Starphire / ShowerGuard...HELP...so confused
Comments (13)I just met with my contractor and the glass guy about these issues. I am going with the low iron glass and we are going to have the protectant fused into the glass during the manufacturing process instead of being applied to the surface where it will eventually wash/erode away and have to be recoated. My contractor has also suggested adding a system to my water heater that "softens" the water without the use of salt. Will this substantially add to the costs? Yes, it will. It's possible that I may have bought the Brooklyn Bridge..........See Moreglass tub shield or shower curtain?
Comments (8)I have experienced the half glass on the tubs in a few hotels too. The first one I saw was fixed and it was almost impossible to reach in the tub/ shower and start the water without getting wet. A real hassle. Also when taking a shower, not only does the water get splashed on the floor, but was also cold without full coverage of all glass or a shower curtain. But it looked really cool. On another visit, had seen another one but this one was hinged so you could reach in and turn on the water. This one was longer down the tub than the other hotel had it and was a little over hall way down the full length (where as the first one was almost just 1/3) and it was better in that aspect, but there still was water on the floor when I finished and was still cold due to the air movement in the room. The bottom of the movable panel also did not have a lip on it like a standard shower door has, so it was a real mess. Maybe adding that strip would help, but then there are the other problems. I had been thinking of a future second bath upgrade and liked these looks, but the function is sorely lacking. So will put that on hold till I work out this and other details. I have seen some nicer upscale sliding doors and that might be what I go with....See Morecplover
