Has anyone ever used a griddle like this?
Comments (5)The description doesn't make any mention of the griddle construction, except that it's steel. Does it have an aluminum or copper core to facilitate even heat conduction? If not, it's bound to have hotter areas over the burners and cooler areas between burners. Also, I'd tend to think that two, 2-burner griddles would be easier to deal with. You'd be able to stack them for storage, or more readily slide them into vertical storage. They'd also be a heck of a lot easier to wrestle with or fit in the sink when it comes time to clean them. Just my two cents....See MoreAnyone ever use K9 artificial turf for Dogs?
Comments (118)Yikes! I can see where that is a problem. I had a 14 year old who could not make the 4 stairs to the ward so I placed a piece of the turf on the porch. She used it all the time, but it did get rank! My yard install took a full week with new drainage and lots of underlaying stone and sand. So I am sure that is why it still works for me....See MoreAnyone ever repair/replace induction cooktop on range? X-post Kitchens
Comments (19)Wow, you've had almost exactly the experience we did with Samsung and we also switched to the same Electrolux. We had three replacement Samsungs (same model as yours) as various problems could not be either properly diagnosed or fixed over a three year period (all under warranty). The last one had the top explode and at that point we took Samsung to court. They paid and we bought the Electrolux which has been great. Only relatively minor complaints about the Electrolux which by the way has been totally reliable. I'd prefer to be able to directly choose a heat setting rather than turning on to medium and then going up or down. I love the large burner at right front but the right rear is too small to use on anything but a six inch pan when a 12" pan is on the front. Overall we are very happy with the Electrolux. We're going to replace it but only because during a kitchen remodel we opted for a 36" range and nobody makes a 36" so will move to gas. Overall though I'd give 5 stars to our Electrolux experience and about 2 stars to Samsung....See MoreHas anyone ever used the ventahood TLH style of liner insert?
Comments (12)[In parts due to some issue with Houzz or me] First, the VaH " magic multiplying" factor has been addressed here multiple times. En brief, blowers have what is called a fan curve (see figure). In free air, the flow rate is higher than when restricted by ducting, lack of make-up air (MUA), and, where present baffle of mesh filters. Because the VaH "Magic Lung" versions of their hood product lines lack filters, the hood restrictions are less. However, ducting and MUA losses are still present and care has to be taken to account for these when determining the actual flow rate that can be achieved. The Magic Lung squirrel-cage blowers have a shallow fan curve, and can be significantly restricted by additional pressure loss elements of the kitchen ventilation system. Conventional blowers rated for 450 CFM (for example) in free air (zero static pressure) can usually achieve 300 CFM with all of the pressure loss elements I listed. The VaH hood/blower assembly achieves 300 CFM only when hanging in free air....See Moredbabrams
