I am sorry, I am obviously not as computer saavy as you are. Pardon my ignorance and stupidity. I have a router WIRED to my main desktop computer. My old laptop was WIRELESSLY hooked up to it. I don't know how to WIRELESSLY connect my new laptop to my own router, I have never done it before. I need someone to walk me through the steps of finding my WIRELESS source. A "source" is what the computer calls the choice of routers that show up on a list of routers near me (all through Verizon) that I can hookup to, but I do not want to do that, I want to use my own non-Verizon router which is not listed when I try to connect. I hope this helps you, and again I apologize for being so stupid with this. Whatever happened to the people on this forum who understood that not all of us are computer literate and that is the reason we come here: for answers, not to be belittled by those who are more knowledgeable?

As Mikie mentioned, dial-up routers are pretty are rare these days and the ones that do exist are going to be used or rather expensive. She probably doesn't really need one. If she is going to use dial-up, you need to find her an ISP that provides dial-up service. I don't know who they are any more but Google should be able to help. She doesn't need to contact the phone company unless she wants DSL. If she happens to be on one of the restricted minute phone plans, she'll need to change that. Dial-up is just like a voice call and would count toward her call allowance. Unless the laptop has a built in modem, she's going to need an external one that connects via USB. With that setup, there will be no need to worry about wireless networking.

Make sure the controller is designed for low voltage inputs. At least some use 120 VAC on their inputs and provide the conversion to adjustable low voltage on the outputs.

You're a bit over-accessorized, IMO. I do like the dancing ladies though. They are all I'd want on the walls, but consider framing them with something a little more impactful to enhance and enlarge them. Can't see your light fixture, but that's where I'd invest in some bling. If you'd want to double the chandy's effect, use a mirror instead of the ladies and move the three of them to your other large walls here. I would also paint below the chair rail in the same white as the rest of the trim. Then I'd clear the table except for a lovely floral centerpiece low enough for diners to see each other over it. The plants in the corners are not helpful. Simple and minimal would be the overall key in this room. Have you considered Roman shades at your windows in a neutral fabric that works well with your wall color? They would allow you to have privacy when lowered but would be up and out of the way when you want daylight. Is there a pretty rug beneath the glass table? That might be a nice touch if you have room for it. Depends on how the legs of your chairs are. Do they splay out or are they straight? A rug should be large enough for the chairs to be pulled out and sat in without falling off the edges of it. It also should not run into the baseboards, but leave flooring exposed all around it. Pull out a chair and sit in it as you would for dining. Get up, leave it pulled out and see if there is room for you to walk behind it to exit the room. That should tell you if a rug would be a tight fit or not.
