Comments (32)When I started this thread, I said I didn't have many whites. Well, now I have one more, and is she a beauty--but it is really hard to get a decent photo of her. There she sits in the garden looking pristine white, but put a camera in front of her, and a faint brown edge begins to appear--as though she suffered from thrips. I think these pics largely overcame that that problem, but shame on my camera for revealing a lady's blemishes! Memoire/Ice Cream--new rose, first two blooms on it. Can you see that irritating faint brown edging? And such a big, full beautiful bloom otherwise. Another view of Memoire/Ice Cream--shot at a longer range (so the faint brown edging won't be so apparent--hee, hee!) That's it for my whites. Anyone else have any? Comments (2)I am a fan of Benjamin Moore Pale Oak OC-20. It was recommended by our realtor as the new "in-color". It is very light and does go OK with some grey shades IMHO. I used it for my recent bathroom reno. All the best in your project....See MoreTrim color - off the shelf white? Or other white color?
Comments (4)Choose yourself. Forget undertones - they only apply to architectural paint colours in some decorative finishes. Many do use the term to personally describe what they see within a colour, which is fine on an individual level. This is a personally subjective viewpoint. But assigning a permanent description of an undertone to a colour is unhelpful - for it doesn’t take into account the impact of lighting and context to alter a colour’s appearance in different settings. Consider Hue Families - they are objective and can be measured using a standardised light source. If the information given via colour measurement doesn’t align to how a colour appears in your space - the data is an efficient starting point for choosing an alternative, to better fit your light and requirements. If you choose a white with a low Chroma, ( low level of colourfulness ) it equates to a more neutral the trim colour. This provides a backdrop for a greater number of different wall colours to work alongside. The lower the Chroma = the nearer to a true neutral. 0 Chroma = neutral. Many perceive near neutral whites from the Green-Yellow Hue Family to appear most neutral. Examples? BM OC-151 BM OC-152 BM Chantilly Lace SW Extra White DE Delicate White The higher the Chroma for trim - the less options you will have for wall colours....See Morelooking for a white/off white cabinet color for Q glacier white quartz
Comments (6)@Susanne Woolley its a long story, but we eneded up having to return the glacier white because it was an oddly printed slab. we have msi trevi because it was one of the only options availabe. i went with bm white dove. it has enough warmth and grey in it to look good in both east and west exposure. kitchens not completly finished but im happy with it so far! the trevi is a littke darker and warmer than cabinets...See MoreKen (N.E.GA.mts) 7a/b
