4" Center Faucet for Laundry Room--with a sprayer?
Comments (8)Often single-hole faucets will come with an escutcheon (a cover plate or a deck plate) that's intended to cover the extra holes in a three-hole sink. Sometimes you have to buy the model that comes with it (bcs they sell one without); and sometimes they just automatically include it. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Vigo-Industries-Pull-Out-Spray-Kitchen-Faucet-with-Deck-Plate-in-Stainless-Steel/17096960?action=product_interest&action_type=title&item_id=17096960&placement_id=irs-106-t1&strategy=SMT&visitor_id&category=&client_guid=db829755-a047-4200-b68f-6e62028f1567&customer_id_enc&config_id=106&parent_item_id=19343645&parent_anchor_item_id=19343645&guid=d2adbeba-1245-483c-8924-29252478eee6&bucket_id=irsbucketdefault&beacon_version=1.0.1&findingMethod=p13n Those escutcheons might not leave you with a hole to put a soap dispenser in, so if you think you'd like a soap dispenser, just get one of those little round plates klem1 was talking about--they're a snap to find--and put it in one of the holes. If you do get a single-handle faucet, get one with the handle on the right if you're a righty; I put mine on the left and discovered that's wrong. Because I *hold* whatever it in my LEFT hand, and use my right to scrub, squeeze, get the soap, turn on the water, etc. I will say I like the single-handle, because you can adjust the temperature while one hand is busy, and because you can easily memorize which position is "lukewarm." You can get "warmish" with a single hand motion (this was important to us bcs our apt bldg's hot water is REALLY hot, and it would be hard to figure out where was the comfortable temperature. Too bad they don't make the Kohler Avatar anymore (especially the Avatar Pro!). it would be perfect for you. I have the regular Kohler Avatar, and I'm thinking that if I ever sell my home, and I'm going to write into the contract that it comes with me. Though this one is a pretty good approximation! Since it's only $80, it probably has a plastic spray head. http://www.lowes.com/pd_356750-72981-16930-SSSD-DST_0?productId=3517996 What I like about these over some others is that the shape is an L, not a U. So there's a lot more clearance -under- the faucet. So as you're picking, focus on the distance between the lowest part of the faucet, and the top of the countertop. The Delta Linden has a Spout Height: 9-4/7" (measured from counter top to faucet outlet) (not every set of specs may define "spout height" this way--for example, the Jordan from Lowes, above, has 10.5" spout height per Delta's description, but the Lowe's specs say 12.75, which is probably the total height of the faucet itself), but this is the dimension you want to focus on, if you want to put pots in there without having to move the faucet all the way out of the way first) Here are some others to look at http://www.walmart.com/ip/Vigo-VG02019ST-Single-Handle-Pull-Out-Kitchen-Faucet/19343645 This one has a tall stem before you get into the arch http://www.faucetsuperdeal.com/contemporary-solid-brass-pull-out-kitchen-faucet-nickel-finish.html as does this Kohler Forte http://dripsndrops.net/the-kohler-k-10433-vs-kitchen-faucet-review/ Oh--and pullout faucets: I don't twist my arm around to hold them the way you do the old side sprayer. (like this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mpk7TICWKsY) I grab it head-on, like this (though I grip the head with my whole hand): <a href="http://tinypic.com?ref=21e2alh" target="_blank"><img src="http://i59.tinypic.com/21e2alh.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a> and steer the stream with the base of my palm, almost as if it were a pullDOWN faucet. It's amazing how much easier it is I don't have to pull out as much of the hose, and it doesn't fight me.. You might look into a pullDOWN faucet, but those are often very tall, and then there might be a clearance issue when they come back down. One other note: Don't cheap out. you will use that faucet so much, and if you can at all swing it, go for higher quality even if it's a little more money....See MoreKitchen faucet: separate side sprayer with Vola KV-1?
Comments (0)For my kitchen renovation I've ordered a pretty big sink (the Kohler Prolific 33 inch) and I need a sink sprayer for prep as well as cleaning out the sink. I'm in love with the Vola KV-1 https://en.vola.com/catalog/basin/kv1 and we found one for a steal on ebay, which I'm thinking of using The only thing is, it doesn't have a pull down sprayer and the Vola side sprayer is really $$$$$. I'm looking into getting a separate side sprayer, but the ones i have identified that would look good with the vola (there's a hansgrohe one, for example) say they can't be used with other brand sinks and faucets. Does anyone know about purchasing a side sprayer separately and using it with another brand's faucet? Also any advice regarding how well the side sprayers work these days? I've heard bad things about them compared with the pulldowns. Otherwise I'll go with the Kohler Purist in black https://www.wayfair.com/Kohler-Purist-Single-Hole-Kitchen-Sink-Faucet-with-8-Pullout-Spout-K-7505-L653-K~KOH14349.html Or the Grohe Minta in chrome https://www.grohe.us/en_us/minta-single-handle-kitchen-faucet-32319000.html thanks!!!...See MoreBar or kitchen faucet with sprayer for laundry room?
Comments (7)I have the smaller bar pull down faucet in my laundry sink and it is perfect. The water flow is great, either a stream or spray. My sink is 21" wide by 15" and 13" deep. A larger faucet would be in the way. My faucet is Delta Leland,...See MoreHelp!Wide Spread Wall Mount Tub Faucet with Attached Sprayer??
