itsuz, if you are signed in just go up to the right hand corner and click on Your Houzz, where a dropdown will show your name and underneath you will find EDIT Profile. If you click on that and scroll down it will have a place to put the name you want to be known on Houzz (here) as. I thought it was very confusing also but I had not scrolled down far enough to get there. You will probably have to sign in as itsuz, with your password, but the name you want will always stay here. Does that make any sense to you? Maybe I didn't explain it well, but hopefully it will be the answer you are seeking.

You're very welcome, but I'm sorry things are still messed up!

I've tried to find a separate page for Sue_va. I found one that says Sue VA but no Harley or any activity. Is that your page or someone else's? Or maybe was supposed to be your page that got lost in the shuffle?

Did you have a different sign-in/password for your Sue account? Can you still get into it? Just hold the mouse over the Your Houzz at the top right of the page and choose Sign Out at the bottom and sign back in again as Sue. I don't think they can merge the two accounts, but you could just leave the Itsuz account out there and use the Sue, if that's what you prefer.

Unless.... Did you mean that the Itsuz page is attached to your Sue page?

If you give us some more details, we can try to help you sort this out....

It might also help to first clear the browser's cookies and cache and then try the different log in.

If I go up to My Houzz on the right it says itsuz, which they set up, I didn't, although I tried to "fix" it or to delete it but couldn't.

All of this started when I started to read a thread and didn't get all the avatars.

This is really confusing, indeed! Since it still has you posting as itsuz, I'm not surprised that it says that when you go to My Houzz. When you go to your Sue-va-gw page, does it have an Edit Profile button on the right side of the banner? Or just a Follow button?

BTW, it shows itsuz as a follower!

Also, when you've tried to sign in as Sue, did you use sue_va_gw as your sign in name? If you haven't, try signing out of itsuz, and signing in as that, with the underscores and gw.

I'm with you to the end on this. We'll figure it out, or come up with something new that works for you.

You've gotten your name back! Do you have your page back on Your Houzz? Because I still don't see Harley.

First I was thinking I just had to realize I had lost the Kitchen Table, after all these years. Then I decided to keep on digging. There is a section way down on Houzz where there are a gazillion ways to get help. I looked at several and finally found one about user names, and chose it. It was a long way around and finally I found one that had "Did you sign in using your Garden Web username?"
There is where I finally managed to get to my page, with the pic of me on the Harley. I had already deleted the itsuz page, but there it was anyhow with the name changed to Sue_va. I clicked Sue_va on the itsuz page and now I also have the Harley page, as well as the itsuz, each named Sue_va. But as you see, it doesn't show up. At least I'm here and maybe eventually I'll figure out the rest of the stuff. Maybe.

Okay, I just looked at your pages again. One of your followers on your Sue page is also following you on your Itsuz page, which now says Sue_va as well, and your Sue page has your Gardenweb member date.

So were you signed in as Itsuz or Sue (GW sign in) when you just posted? The trick seems to be getting the Sue page to link up to you again, so your Harley picture will come back and you'll have the right home page.

You probably can't delete the Itsuz page because you've posted using it.

Maybe you need to sign out, delete your Houzz cookies, then do the GW/Sue sign in? But I'm no cookie expert and I would hate for you to become more untethered by deleting the wrong cookie. That might be something to ask the Houzz techies.

Plllog, I'm back! I'll try to keep this short. I signed in from GW to Houzz with my GW name, zone number, etc. and had the Harley pic there. When the avatars became iffy and I tried to comment I got a big white message that said "Sign in to Comment." Not wanting to give up on the KT, I signed in and tried to make a new page. I emailed Houzz several questions and each time they emailed my replies with itsuz being my user name. Actually itsuz is part of my email address. I finally decided to let itsuz be my user name if that is what it would take to get to the KT, and added a flower pic. By clicking on itsuz, the Sue_va page came up as it was originally, and the itsuz page is also there with Sue-va. I tried to delete the itsuz one, but it didn't delete, but it changed to Sue_va so they are both there. When I comment I don't know which one is "working." Doesn't matter to me as long as I can read and post. Again, I so appreciate your concern and help. That is the good old KT spirit.

Just remembered something. I'm getting emails re who has commented on My Page. It says I have one now from charleemo on the Testing thread. It does not show there, and leads to a page with a picture like the one on my itsuz (Sue_va) page. ??

I've just looked at both pages. The one that was Itsuz, with the flowers on the banner, is still attached to your screen name on your posts, and it has your posts from today on the recent activity. All the activity on your old page with Harley are from Feb. 17 or before. So it hasn't been active since then.

It seems that they moved your sign-in routine to the Itsuz page.

I doubt they can combine the two pages. If you want to go back to your old page, one other way to do it is to send them the link to the original page, and say you want to be able to sign into that, rather than the new page they made you. They may be able to reactivate it. They wouldn't have to delete the itsuz page, just make it possible for you to sign in to your original page.

But if you're fine with things the way they are, you can use the instructions I gave before (I can find or write them again if you don't have them), and put the Harley picture on the new page.

plllog, I would prefer to have my original page, but I'm also afraid I might lose it completely. If you would send me those instructions (just to be sure I have all the Ts crossed and the Is dotted ) to put the Harley pic on the new page I would appreciate it. Next time my GSIL is here I'll have him see if he can get that done. In the meantime I'll settle for what I have, but I will always wonder what happened when I first lost the avatars.

Well, Sue, you're very welcome. I don't think you'd lose your original page by asking them to restore it to your sign in, but you must do what you're comfortable with.

To put your Harley picture as your avatar, go to your page and hover the mouse pointer over the place the picture goes, on the left side of the banner. You'll see a camera icon appear in the upper right corner of the avatar area. Click the camera icon. That opens a dialog box--a small window where you can do stuff--which is pretty self-explanatory. On the right is an area you can click to upload your picture, or if your picture is open on your screen, you can drag it to that same area. On the left is a crop tool which lets you center the part of the image you want as your avatar or exclude excess background. You can adjust by dragging the corners with your mouse. When you're ready, click on Save, bottom right, and you're done.
