Cool your willing to use a make shift gritty mix. May want to sift some of the peat materail from the BBS bagged C&S soil as well. What remains after sifting is some darker bark pieces that looks like a finer mulch and some forest humus. Useable yield may vary, would think one bag of BBS unsifted bag O'crap should yield enough for all of them. You could also ( with some extra time on your hands) pick up a bag of orchid bark smaller size is better but any size will work from a BBS as well . After soaking them in warm water for a while the chunks will be eaiser to ( by hand) break it into smaller barkier pieces. Prior to sifting any especialy for Perlite I'd suggest to use some sort of mask for beathing protecing. Big drainage hole ? As in orchid pot drainage hole big ? The demo pic is a bit off. less humor or more fun ? Blue arrows. look sort of good as ASAP potting candidates for some practice for you but if me I'd cut them for newer cleaner root. Red lines suggest cutting them for re rooting and potted later Purple circle I'm Sort of mixed on this one. It can go either way. Bigger can survive longer but adapts more slowly.

I think it is quite etiolated - long and contorted stems that have been turning toward any available light. I believe I see at least couple of dry/dead stems too? I don't think that is serious problem, maybe it wasn't watered enough. Plant's leaves look good otherwise. White dots are most likely some salt/minerals deposits from water that can be wiped off easily - not much problem there. Oldest leaves often yellow up, dry up and fall off. But yellowing could be caused by overwatering too - in that case, they feel soft, full of water and almost translucent yellowish color. That means soil is not draining well and the roots are sitting in wet muck. That would be problem for most plants. I can't tell from the photo. If there are many leaves yellowing at more-or-less same time, I would consider checking the roots. I would cut off all dead branches (they will fall off anyway). Decide how you want plant to look. Some prefer droopy branches - I prefer more compact growth with thicker trunks. Depending how you want plant to look, it should be pruned. It definitely should be given much more light than it had before. If light happens to come from mostly one direction, turn it 1/4 turn every week or two to expose all sides as equally as possible. I would amend the 'soil' you used by adding lots of sifted or rinsed perlite, It seems to be water retaining - succulents should have very good drainage. You can check if the potting mix is dry or still wet before you water. Use bamboo skewer or chopstick. Insert deep into the pot trying to avoid roots. Take it out after few minutes. If dry and clean - time to water. If damp - cold and has even some particles sticking to it, make sure you don't water. Check again in few days. Edited to add: air roots are not much of problem; sometimes they may grow if there is plenty of humidity. It is suggested that they may grow if plant is thirsty - but rather check the soil for that. Air roots could be rubbed off, eventually they will dry up. If you take cutting and it has air roots, they will most likely continue growing. But jade cuttings root very easily, so you don't have to worry about having air roots on them.

NP, they are showing now. Pretty good looking plants. 1st needs support because it has big branches growing bit 'wildly' (that is not a criticism :), one I can see is too much to the side. Not a problem, you can just prune one off, or prune some of the smaller branches off to make it more balanced. I am only looking at the photo - but think I would prune off the left branch and the lowest big branch. When repotting, I would get original plant into more upright position. Just a suggestion... As jades get bigger, you should decide what shape you want them to grow into. That is personal preference - I like one thick stem/trunk (that's why I said to prune extra branches off). Once you decide, pruning in early spring will help to keep plants balanced and grow the way you like. Variegated jade looks like 'Tricolor' (but I can't see it clearly), and they are as easy to propagate from leaves as green ones. Sometimes they revert to all green, but will grow. They just grow bit slower in my experience. But plant is very small, and you should grow it bigger before taking leaves on - they feed the plant and help it grow. I have many grown from leaves and also from stem cuttings. The colorful plant is probably sedum and could be propagated very easily from leaves or stem cuttings.

They are, I think, called "bulb" pots - or somehing similar. I have some plastic ones too, I buy them if I see any as they are not sold as often as regular pots. There are many others made of resin, plasic and similar materials - I prefer those since they are not as heavy...that may not bother you :) I bought pot in the photo just week ago in Rona for just under $6 (in Canada). I have seen even nicer pots in Garden centre, but they are more expensive if that is important to you. They had many different types, just do not buy one with recurved top (like a fish bowl) - it is difficult to remove plants from those. If there are no drainage holes, I always drill some. I never used BJ mix, but some ppl mentioned that it was still bit water-retaining. Easy way to solve that is to add sifted perlite, or pumice if you have some. Old soil could be caked on, but you mentioned plant was in drainless pot and wet. Dry soil (or mostly dry) usually crumbles off; if it contains lots of peat it could be more hard. You may loose some roots when removing soil, but it shouldn't be much of problem. Better fewer healhy roots than many mushy. And jade will root very easy and fast, as long as they are not kept too wet.
