Quarter round for 40 degree angle

I have a unique angle in stairwell. 40 degrees versus your traditional 90 degrees. What should I do. My ~$40 miter saw only cuts up to 45 degree angles. Would the proper thing to do be cutting both ends at 20 degrees, which i cannot do. Well maybe if I used my sander bit for my drill to try to grind it down while eyeing the angle and hoping to get it right, Or is it possible to do some kind of coping job, This last is what I am hoping.

Or to ask it fewer words, What would a professional do?
