Elephant Ears in containers - any EEs or look-alikes more cold-hardy?

Hi,

Haven't grown anything like this yet but curious about it.

EEs seem to be considered tropical. And understand that the minimum standard procedure is to overwinter at least the tubers indoors. But are any Elephant Ears - or look-alike plants - cold hardy in containers over, say, Zone 5 winters?

More than a few sellers advertise the types of EEs they offer as something like Zone 3-10 - but one that responded to an inquiry said they grow in 3-10 but winter only in 7-10. (That's not how I understand USDA Hardiness Zone usage.)

Thanks.
