Rebuilding the entire roofing system and risking exposure of the home's contents to the elements? Just take 30-40-K and flush it down.

The house is attractive as presented. Adding a more textural siding like cedar shake instead of the T-111 would be a better focus for a similar expenditure. That would allow you to address the (inevitable) moisture damage that most of that siding has when used in direct contact to studs with poor attention to penetrations.

To be able to get useful suggestions you should post more photos. You should not assume roof peaks are the answer. Keep an open mind.

The reason those different roof elevations(what you call peaks) is because of the architecture of the house. There are rooms/spaces covered by those different elevations.

You could add such a roof, but it would add no value to the house and cost tens of thousands of dollars.

I agree with above comments. Plus that house has many other decorative elements like the wood and stone columns, wood trim details, and a nice contrast between stained wood and the siding.

It might be worth a relative small expense to have the ColorPeople or some firm like theirs to give you a sketch of how they would give your house some more curb appeal.
