Please post your favorite design/storage ideas!
It is too cold outside! Let's warm up GW kitchens with a thread showing some of our favorites from past reveals. Although I can't remember whose they were, I am thinking of innovative ideas like the corner prep space with the stool underneath, a shallow wall cabinet between the studs, the wonderful solution to avoid a dead corner by having an entire pullout cabinet, and the bottom drawers that go into the toekick (can someone else find and post those?)

Oh, heck, I'll just post all of Deedles' kitchen, pay particular attention to the undersink storage, the backsplash shelves that visually disappear, the baking cupboard, the shelves at the back of the trash pullout, the between-the-studs...

8 years agoI'm rather pleased with the cabinets over my fridge. The other one holds my canning pot and stock pot, as well as extra paper towels.

You just keep showing us more surprises!! I'm sorry I didn't answer you question sooner. I guess I just missed it somehow. My DH put screws through the edge of the springs into the wooden sides of the raised bed. Then, just to be sure, he braced it with a 2x4 in the back. Comments (77)Aputernut what are the origins of your kings? They are magnificent!! DH and I took a trip to Bronner's this fall. #1 on my bucket list was a visit!! I am sooo embarrassed and feel so STUPID. I was not interested in the video of the history as I knew it and saw much on Youtube, so avoided the "Program room". I did peak in at one point and it was dark as a show was going on...The next day, an hour outside of Frankenmuth I began reading their literature. To my GREAT frustration I discovered in that dark room are cases of 150+ nativities from 50+ different countries!! I have been begging and the Bronner's Facebook page has begun posting pictures of some of them. Unfortunately they do not post as many Creche sets as they do ornaments. But they are not for sale--they are a private collection so I get it. ANYWAY I added a camel and cow to my outdoor set..and I am scouring ebay for a few more shepherds..there are some older characters out there I would love to get my hands on!! We also went to one large spot light. DH is very into cutting our wattage use DOWN. I have a star hanging on the back of the light pole, and we have enough snow to cover the blue extension cord so it is all very nice IMHO...See MorePlease post your pictures - need ideas for pictures on tabletops
Comments (6)No pictures but I can tell you about mine. I have a sofa table with photos all in the same frames in varying sizes. All are B/W or sepia; all are light-hearted photos of family members that are fun to look at and they date from early 1900's, WWII, mid century to current. I have another group of pictures on shelves that are just "sisters" -- me and mine, mom and hers, grandmothers and their sisters, etc.(as well as a couple of nuns), ranging from 1800's through current. I'm working on another group with the men in the family and one with just wedding photos of family members. Comments (5)Before we remodeled, we had racks above the stove. Not great for the spices, but it functioned well. We do have one long shelf to put on the wall next to the stove for the tall stuff (salt and pepper grinders, oil, etc). I will say that I would not want to mix it in a utensil drawer (in part because my 15" utensil drawer is really, really full)....See Morebanana suit

A few things from our kitchen we're very pleased with. Dual pull outs over the fridge, multiple toe kick drawers, hidden washer and dryer.

Drawer within a drawer
Toe kick
Sheet pan storage disguised to look like the other drawers
Roll-out bin on the other side of a blind corner
Prep area-
And lots of drawers! Our 180 sq ft kitchen has 32 drawers. I made them frameless, so each 4 drawer stack has a 4-1/2", 7", 7", and 11" depth inside. Not much waste space in our kitchen. Tons of storage; all without uppers.
