Cascade rinse aid product in Kitchen Aide Dishwasher ?
Comments (5)LemiShine is NOT rinse aid. It's a concentrated citric acid powder intended for cleaning calcium and hard water deposits from glassware and the dishwasher interior. As weissman says, all liquid rinse aids are pretty much the same, other than one may work better under whatever may be the specific water conditions at any particular location. Too high a dose of any rinse agent can cause excess foaming during the final rinse when it's dispensed. More likely, the film is due to the detergent your SIL is using, and/or too high or too low a dose of said detergent....See MoreDishwasher troubles.... may have been from using Cascade pks.....

Comments (18)mama, I'm not offended but I've done this more than once and it works great - I am not passing along advice without having tried it myself. Baby oil washes freely out of clothing when soap is added (one of the reasons its used in cleaning up babies), the items do not come out of the washer coated in oil or oily at all, they are fresh and clean, no stains or oily residue in clothing or washing machine - you'll never know it had been there. I wouldn't suggest something that I thought could damage a washing machine, it's never harmed my Maytags. Google Baby Oil and gasoline scent, read only the sites that appear more trusting to you. There are many where the advice has been found. It's helpful in removing the oil residue from working with poison ivy too so no irritants survive a regular wash and dry....See MoreDishwasher detergents revisited (again ;)
Comments (34)@littlegreeny, what exactly came of those Reeva Dishwasher Pods? I remember seeing those a while ago, and then.. very similar soft tablets/pods at Sam's Club. They both look like Huish/Sun Formula's.. but I can't be too sure. KIK/Korex (another manufacturer altogether, used to make a lot of ALDI and Wal-Mart stuff. @larsi_gw's, Miele DW will hate it. But the Sun/Huish Store Brand Dishwasher Gel made for Aldi, Target, Safeway, Albertsons, and quite a few other stores, reminds me a lot of the Lime-Green Cascade Gel that a few of us love with STPP Added. It seems to have a little bit more chlorine content in the bottle, and you can certainly smell it. It also has a really nice, bleachy lemony scent. And from what I can recall, the Chlorine Bleach that is used is capable of breaking down Proteins & Starches, just like Cascade. For some of you, who liked the previous suggestion of Adding STPP + Cascade Gel, it could be another product worth trying. :-)...See Morebeaglenc
