I have never heard this about an Anna. My Annas don't bloom continuously, nor do any of the Annas in my area (N. San Diego County, California). In fact, I am not aware of any apple tree variety that will bloom almost continuously. Lemon trees will do this, but not apple trees. I'd love to know where you read that, I have never come across any info that describes Annas this way. Annas are very early, though (in full bloom at my house right now). And, in very low chill areas like where I live, I have found out that they can often have a second, smaller bloom break in the late Fall/eary Winter. This happened to me with my Anna which had 3 tiny little apples ready to pick in December (and were really, really sweet). For me, my Annas are a wee bit earlier than the Dorsett Golden I have, but hopefully as they both mature, they'll bloom closer together. Anna is self-fruitful, but it will bear more heavily and the apples will be rounder and fuller with a cross-pollinator. So, don't really need a cross-pollinator, I was just hoping my existing Anna that is in a really bad location (way too much shade) would have a larger crop with a cross-pollinator. I'm going to move it this December - I waited too long to move it as it is now in bloom - so it will eventually provide more fruit once it gets more sun. Patty S.

Hello all, Was wondering if anyone is familiar with these types of spots/marks on lettuce leaves. I'm growing Queensland Lettuce, and it's been raining a lot in muggy Miami. I'm very familiar with leafminers, but these don't look like trails...they're more like little splotches, yellow or light green in appearance. It's extremely consistent, on all my lettuce and even arugula. I can't seem to figure out if it's insect or fungus related. More importantly, are my leaves still edible? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Aside from this, the leaves seem happy and are growing nicely. Thanks, P

kbhale, I grew pimento this year for the first time. I grew one called simply "Pimento Sweet" and one I started from seed called "Red Cheese". I love these peppers. The Pimento Sweet I grew were rather large around 2" wide and 2.5" long. The walls are super thick. The Red Cheese looks like a minature pumpkin (only red) they were about 2.5" wide and only 1.5-2 inches tall. The Red Cheese also have very thick walls. I do not dry them or pickle them I use them just like sweet bell peppers in cooking. I will try other pimento peppers in 2010 until I find one with a REALLY SWEET flavor that I like. I did find that the Pimento Sweet plants were not very prolific. The Pimento Sweet put on about 7-8 peppers per plant and then stopped!! Not another flower or pepper until the first 7-8 were turning red. The Red Cheese were not prolific but they kept putting out flowers and peppers -- as a matter of fact the plant is still alive and green with flowers and baby peppers after a mild frost. (33 degrees at night for 2 hours) Hope this helps. DL

I mean no disrespect or offense, but I'm confused by the displayed pattern and response. My husband is slightly OCD, and his first action would be an obsessive search to locate not only the right forum, but every other link he could find that gave him the exact information he sought, and he wouldn't stop until he found what he was looking for... no offense intended. That's simply the pattern of behavior I notice from him. He would never allow me or anyone else to answer the question he had, and take the answers at face value. He'd read, and search out scientific information for himself. That's just how he is. So, I have to question why someone who wanted information on one type of plant would ask at an entirely different forum... and again, no offense intended. It just strikes me as rather off the typical pattern of behavior.
