"Only thick, dyed-through leather hides will stand up to the test of time." So true. Many places have leather which is actually very thin since they shave it off in layers. That's why so many couches look stretched out. We purchased our leather one from JC Penneys. On sale. It a cordovan (brownish burgandy) color. At the same time, we got Flexsteel and Broyhill couches which were not cheap. The Flexsteel frame got wobbly and the fabric shredded. The Broyhill is looking worse for wear and has a slipcover. The leather is holding up great with only occasional wiping. We have 4 normal kids and 2 messy adults. The shape of the cushions is still looking good. I will never buy anything else again. The better the quality the leather the better it will hold up. Don't fall for a salesman's speech. Read up and decide what will work for you. I have a friend with microfiber and she's "OK" with it. Christie, Charles Schneider Furniture is one of the last great American furniture brands left. I do not know why they are not better known, but they should be. They are now making American made leather with memory foam cushions, it is so comfortable to sit and lay on. They still bench make each sofa by hand and to order. Are you are person who would ever reupholster a sofa to save it from a landfill? If so Charles Schneider furniture makes the only frame and cushion cores that are truly capable of being reupholster. Make the upgrade to the blue gel foam cushion it is not that much more for a sofa that will last 20 years. I don't know if the links below will help. As some of you might know, I have a business making cushions and chair covers. Just to give you an estimated cost on new foam and labor to make covers for the couch and chair, youâÂÂre looking at a minimum of $650. ThatâÂÂs just to replace the foam for a 90â long couch, with three seat pillows measuring 30x30x3, 2 backs at 45x30x3, and chair of 30x30x3 seat with 30x30x3 back cushion. ItâÂÂs just âÂÂapproximateâ figures, and doesnâÂÂt include the fabric cost, which naturally could vary considerably, depending upon what you select. I just wanted to give you some ballpark figures to consider. If those were the actual sizes of the replacement foam, then youâÂÂd be needing approximately 14 yards of upholstery fabric to add to your cost, too. You need to consider those costs, plus the cost of the furniture itself, to figure out if itâÂÂs worth it, to you. Without a doubt, all that foam needs to be replaced with new, premium quality foam and batting.

Is the TV going into the white cabinetry? Is the TV an important element of the room? That would affect the furniture placement. It is hard to get a feel for the size of the room, but a two sofa set-up gives you less flexibility in arranging than a sofa and one or two chairs. I would wait on buying furniture until the fireplace and cabinets were in. And I would get the measurements of the intended pieces and lay them out on the floor with tape.
