Inside of front door, To paint or not to paint?
Comments (10)we, too, have a woodgrain fiberglass front door and we opted to stain the front a dark reddish-brownish-plum and the inside is painted white to match our trim. It looks great. The painter suggested we do it that way because to stain the inside the same as the outside would have brought one more color into the interior of our house and been too "busy" - it was a great suggestion. I'm thrilled that we did it white inside. But do what you like. That's what matters most!...See MorePaint color for inside front door
Comments (7)If you paint the oak molding on the door, it will no longer match the molding on the closet door, right next to it, as well as the rest of the house. Bad move. I don't understand the advantage of having a visually bigger door without the matching trim. Maybe you can achieve a similar result by painting the door a color from the trim. A tan with a ruddy color to it, kind of a base color of the trim. Then the other colors of the trim will act as the 'visually bigger' part that you want....See MorePainting Inside of Front Door Dark, where to stop?
Comments (4)If you want your door to be the dramatic accent, then leave the sidelights your trim color or possibly the wall color (for real drama/focus). Here are some pics for ideas (hard to find doors with sidelights though): Pure Style Home Blog Entry Before http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_TatPpSnJCYc/S9ZEuzuxnaI/AAAAAAAAHYc/yyzHP4qCZnM/s1600/entrybefore.jpg Entry After http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TatPpSnJCYc/S9ZEImt4kuI/AAAAAAAAHYM/Bqw1-fUwKqI/s1600/front+door+no+address.jpg Isabella & Max Rooms Blog http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_YCuDuVA8jD8/SsLThOSwU8I/AAAAAAAAEdo/bJqPqcbokmo/s1600-h/IMG_0247.JPG Colour Me Happy Blog http://lh4.ggpht.com/_pCtYBqw7SEE/SjpbHmxTt8I/AAAAAAAACtw/EKFV9RhMzh8/s1600-h/image%5B62%5D.png...See MoreStuck on color for inside front door
Comments (4)The light from the chandelier only looks gold in photos. I corrected it a bit after I uploaded it but if I took all the gold tones away until the light looked white, that made the walls look green. I had to keep some of the gold cast to retain a more accurate wall and door color. The door IS a warm white, do you think going even warmer would help? WouldnÂt that make it too close too the wall color? Or would that be a good thing?...See MoreMichael
