Not so Tropicana
Comments (6)If this is the very first bloom on a newly planted bare root rose it may not be at all characteristic of what the roses will eventually look like. It put that bloom out on some pretty thin root growth. It may have even started to set that bloom while it was still in storage. Give it a little more time and then see what you have. And like Jackie said, when posting photos for IDs try and catch them before they open completely. Bloom form can often help with an ID but once the bloom has opened all the way out you lose those traits that make some of them so identifiable....See MoreLooking for Tropicana 'Pink Sunburst'
Comments (23)Hi Jill, I don't think you should really be offended by that comment. My interpetation of what they were trying to explain(which is difficult enough over the internet) is the different types of people interested in gardening. I know many people that fit this category and wouldn't be offended to be told that. The bigger issue has to do with correct identification. I'm sure you can imagine the disappointment in trading or purchasing a special plant only to discover that it has been misidnetified and isn't what it's supose to be. I've ordered several Pink Sunburst rhizomes for the spring. The quality of the rhizomes available last year were very poor. I'm hoping this year is much better. I'm paying a premium price and hoping I get a premium rhizome. I'll be extremely disappointed to find out that they are something else. There seems to be something else going on in this post. I don't see any reason for the attitude in their replies. There are many types of people at different levels of expereince....See Moresomeone stole my plants
Comments (13)Wow! I believe people have gone mad! I had a yard sale last week with my bf and wouldn't you know that we had one lady shoplift things in her big purse, one lady was caught with a pen and sheet of stickers taking off our prices and writing new stickers and putting them on our things, people stealing games and leaving the cases....it was simply mad! I had been thinking of taking some iris over there to sell and praise Jesus I didn't because that would have been the final straw!!!! People around here do things like steal plants all of the time and it is beyond pathetic! If they aren't stealing them they are poisoning them just to watch them die! I would suggest that you put lights with censors on them outside around your gardens, if possible, that way when they come on unexpectedly it startles them and they run. We had to do that believe it or not and so far so good....so long as I don't try to have a yard sale that is, lol. Anyway, I am really sorry to hear that this has happened to you and I hope it doesn't again. I am a firm believer in karma and what goes around comes around. God never leaves things unnoticed and this person will reap what they sow! You however will receive a blessing for not retaliating which is so tempting to do. God bless ya hun and I hope things get better for you....See MoreI am pissed. Someone stole my pumpkin.
Comments (52)I do not like to automatically blame teens for things like this, but the girls may be your culprits since they were in the area and may have seen the pumpkin patch. But, without proof, you can't accuse them. If you see them again, you might mention that a pumpkin was stolen from your patch and ask if they saw anyone hanging out in the area. Might make them realize what they did was wrong - if it was them. One of my neighbors looked out her window one day to see a man and his young son cutting branches off of her fir trees. She went outside and asked them what they were doing. "cutting branches for a wreath" they said. She replied that the area was clearly mark no trespassing, that the trees were on private property and that they did not have permission to cut branches off of her trees. "We're not hurting anything, you have lots of trees" the man replied. When she further objected, he started swearing at her and calling her a b*tch. At that point, she ordered him off of her property and threatened to call law enforcement. The thing is, if he had been nice and polite about it and asked for permission first, she would have let him have all the branches he wanted. Honestly, the entitlement of some people - it boggles the mind....See Moreseil zone 6b MI
