Very sad because someone stole one of my Desert Rose
Comments (16)I also had this happen, so has the Huntington. Mine while I was giving a program for free to a garden club group of little old ladies, one took my crystal bowl, what I was using to display a flower I found it in her bag that she was taking home. Plants have been stolen right under the gruards nose at the Huntington, $10,000 of Schick Hybrids, and we had a lift of $30.000 Bonsai plants over the the five foot fence, it had to be an inside job with a truck. The place has guards at night they must leave at the front gate past a guard station. They had to have a large truck for a lift of that size and a crew of at least 4 men. It happens. I am so sorry that it happened to you. Norma...See MoreSo upset. I think someone stole...
Comments (24)Thanks guys. I am going to try and enjoy the garden and not let it worry me too much. Hopefully it was just a one time thing and won't happen again (although I have a feeling those Black Prince toms I planted might be tempting, LOL!) -LL, that is a very good idea with the lattice. You did that up at your mom's didn't you? Think I might go with a couple of those pre-made panels to fencing if they go on sale (since I am bad at woodworking, lol!). That will give more privacy too, since the alley gets a fair amount of traffic from people using it as a shortcut. Have a feeling latice might make good peep-holes 8-) -Susan, my neighbor (power tools guy) has a motion detecor light and it is a maddining thing! A sheet flapping on the clothes line overnight set that thing off. Funny story, some relatives in town have one of those motion lights. One night someone came and stole the lights right out of it...LOL! Yay! Had a downpour this afternoon. Great for the newly moved rose and plants!! Comments (36)I know this isn't related to the post topic, but maybe this info will help someone out there, even if this isn't the way the little dog got out. So many dogs get out when meter readers don't shut the gate(s) properly. It's just so sad & unnecessary that meter readers don't take those extra few seconds to make sure the property is secured, esp. if there's a dog in the yard. Our utility company will tell us (within a 2 day range)what day our meter will be read so we can unlock the gate. When the dogs need to go out for a potty break, we go out first to make sure the gate's shut tight. When the range date is over, we call the util. co. to see if our meter has been read, & if so,we re-lock the gate. My neighbor lost her 2 dogs on the day her elec. meter was read. Of course, she can't prove anything, but it's too coincidental since the meter reader was working our block that day. Best of luck for a wonderful reunion....See MoreGremlins stole my list, can someone help?
