Can I use the Condensation Pump to move water from my Washer up?

I have washer on the first floor, but the room is tiny and I am thinking about moving my washer / dryer to the basement. While I can manager the venting for the dyer, I have figure out the way to drain my washer.
I have the drain running right there - under the 1st floor, but it is too high for the washer.
I was thinking about buying the Condensation Pump and draining into it, and then connecting the condensation pump to the main drain under the basement ceiling and let it pump the waste water up.
Any suggestions?

You can certainly use a sump and pump. However, most condensate pumps will be incapably of handling the volume form a washing machine. A gray-water pump would be more appropriate.

You can put in a sealed pit with a sewage pump which is expensive but if you want a bathroom in the basement someday it is a good first step. You can do an unsealed pit with a sump pump and run it that way as well again though you need to install a pit. Or you can do what I have seen in many homes which is run the washing machine into the existing sump pump and the route the sump pump into the sewer. If you do it this way make sure to put isolation valves in so when you aren't doing laundry you can turn the sump back outside otherwise in many locations it is illegal.

one option would be to try and convince a 'development' organization to let you get a treadle pump or pedal pump. Otherwise hauling buckets might have to do. To make your buckets more efficient though, you might want to get a larger barrel and set it up on a short platform, just to raise it 3 or 4 feet off the ground. Drill a hole near the bottom and attach a hose connector there. You can then use gravity fed drip system throughout your garden to make the most targetted use of the water - you just have to haul and fill your barrel with water and gravity would then water for you. let us know what you figure out. there really aren't too many manual type of water pumps in the North American market.

Gravity drains are fine as long as the water is draining AWAY from the house via drain lines sewer lines whatever. (I know..code) I would personaly never drain into a french drain or any foundation or slab drainage. Yeh, termites. Lift pump is cheap, reliable and you can put the water wherever you want. I clean mine once a year (5 minutes)for reliablity. It could lower your humidity in the basement.

Your washer won't cease to function or be irreparably damaged. I've used both regular Tide and Gain liquids with no issues in soft water. The warranty police have never shown up and the washer hasn't exploded. Keep the dosage low and watch it. Around here we watch our washers anyway :). The only issue would be if the amount you can use without excess suds is enough to clean your clothing. Congrats on your new washer! What kind did you buy?

You need to read the pump specs: How many GPM (gallons per minute) at a head (lift) of 8 to 12 feet?
