What color floor registers/heating grates for natural oak floor
Comments (9)I just put in an oak floor and had the register problem too. I use magnetic air deflectors, so it was easier to stick with the metal register covers. My oak has a light stain on it called "Butterscotch". It's not quite the same as the natural but it's very close. I sprayed the registers with Rustoleum Ultra Cover 2x in Khaki. I'll try to get a picture for you tomorrow. I think the registers blend into the floor nicely. If the paint does not hold up I'll get the oak covers and glue on something for the magnets to stick to, but I've painted other metal registers in the house and so far they are all holding up fine....See MorePaint dilemma? Comments (2)I painted my registers with Rustoleum Satin Nickel spray paint. They were an ugly green brown color that didn't work with the gray toned, stone look LVT tile I installed. I didn't want to buy new as I am renovating an old home and had lots of expenses and this was a place I could save a few pennies. They have held up perfectly. A few had some rust spots so I primed first with Rustoleum Rust converter and then painted. Painted the returns and the screw heads on the returns as well. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Universal-11-oz-All-Surface-Metallic-Satin-Nickel-Spray-Paint-and-Primer-in-One-342508/307244958...See MoreWhat color creamy/white wall paint with Simply White BM cabinets?
Comments (8)Simply White in flat looks a little different than Simply White in semi-gloss. Are your cabinets semi-gloss or eggshell/satin? The difference in sheen changes our perception of the color. My point being you could just paint the walls Simply White and there will be some contrast. If you want more contrast, look at Floral White OC-29 and Soft Chamois OC-13. Soft Chamois for me is a little too bright in a south facing room but brightens up rooms with different exposures. As with all paint, the only way you're going to know what is going to work in your space is to sample....See MoreRelated Professionals
