Lennox vs Trane vs Rheem Heat Pump systems
Comments (4)After reading more carefully, it seems your sizing estimates are all over the place, from 2.5 ton (Lennox), to 3 ton (Trane), to 4 ton (Rheem). A properly done load calculation is necessary to get the equipment size right, especially since you've made changes to your home's structure. Now would also be a good time to have your ductwork balanced so that each room gets the required airflow per the load calculation. Before investing money in a new system, it is very important to ensure your new system is operating at its rated capacity and efficiency....See MoreBid on Trane Heat pump dual fuel...
Comments (2)Hi tigerdunes, I'm in Atlanta Upstairs and downstairs equal about 2000 square ft. I don't know about the linesets. Downstairs alredy has dual fuel setup. 80% variable Ultravation The sales guy was really pushing the xl16i. I did ask about the xl15i after reading your posts. I will check on local dealers that carry Am standard, I know they are the same as Trane. I have another Trane dealer working on a quote. I have another guy working on a quote on some Goodman stuff, but not so sure on the quality. I think he's a good installer, and he said that I could get the 10 year parts and labor. I know his quote would be cheaper. I don't want to be cheap, I just want a good install, a good system, something that will save us on utility bills over our old 16 year old system, and something that's going to last. We hope to be in our home for a long time, but I don't want it to take twenty years to break even. Thanks for your help....See MoreIs this a Good Price? Trane XV95 Furnace & XR15 Heat Pump
Comments (17)I would pay $100 for Trane's Perfect Fit Media filter Cabinet. It is very heavy duty compared to the Honeywell and sized to fit the furnace like a hand fits a glove. Less about the filters and more about the fit and quality of cabinet. I do believe the Trane takes a 5" filter, the HW a 4" filter. BTW, I have the Trane. Very easy to replace old filter. As far as thermostat, first choice would be HW VP Prestige IAQ, 2nd choice would be HW Mdl 8321 (same as Trane 803).. I like the IAQ because it is a true two stage thermostat, has dehumidify on demand feature for AC cooling, and can handle the control of an add on HW humidifier. Discuss carefully with your dealer. This is a nice system you are getting. The AHRI directory site is down for maintenance or else I would look up the matching AHRI number. I would ask dealer to give you the matching number and the performance/efficiency numbers for AC. Still believe you should get a quote on a Carrier Infinity. Comments (2)dht Dealer 1 is offering an older A1 version of the XR14. The configuration below offers the best performance numbers for the XR14,C1 version which you want. 1382135 Active OEM XR14 WEATHERTRON TRANE 4TWR4024C1 4TEE3F39A1 24000 13.00 15.00 24000 9.00 12500 1382247 Active OEM XR14 WEATHERTRON TRANE 4TWR4024C1 4TEE3F31B1 24600 13.00 15.00 24000 8.60 13900 Dealer 2-I would not have the XR13 model. This model is light in heating BTUs. Dealer 3-The XL15i is overall the best of the three choices and obviously the most expensive. 1382158 Active OEM XL15I WEATHERTRON TRANE 4TWX5024A1 4TEE3F39A1 25000 13.00 16.00 24000 9.00 13800 1383391 Active OEM XL15I WEATHERTRON TRANE 4TWX5024A1 4TEE3F31B1 25200 13.00 15.25 24000 8.60 13900 You want a thermostat that controls the blower speed for best dehumdification in cooling. My selection would be the Honeywell Vision Pro IAQ or perhaps the new Trane 900 series. Do not accept anything else. I believe the XL15i offers a rebate-ask the dealer. And because you are changing refrigerants, you should insist on a new and properly sized lineset. Do you mind stating area of country you live? I assume you are certain a 2 ton is correct size. What are you doing about air quality-you have a central return? IMO numbers provided from the CEE HVAC directory...See Moremcgmari
