Showerhead: Speakman? Other?

Sorry, I cannot find a previous post on this, where someone dismissed the newer Speakman Airstreams. (I think the poster only liked very OLD Speakman heads.)

Is this brand still highly regarded? I have a chrome Airstream head left from a prior remodeling. I'd been very happy with that head. I don't know how old it is, only that it is pre-2001. I can only make out A112.18.1M 2.5 GPM and pat. pending

Now I have brushed nickel in a shower and dislike the Kohler head the contractor installed. I don't want to do the 'finish clash', replacing with my existing chrome head unless it's worth it. I don't want to buy a NEW Speakman in brushed nickel unless it is worth it, either!

I've also brought home a Moen Banbury 5. Equal to Speakman? Not?

A little help, please.

I don't know if I will be much help, but I will try. We are Speakman fanatics. In fact, our architects rolled their eyes when I requested a Speakman instead of the fancy-schmancy rain showerheads they wanted to put in our house. They ended up calling us "Speakman people." Anyway, we had Speakman before 2001, and got another one when we remodeled in 2013 at our previous house. I thought it was fabulous.

I hope someone else chimes in, because I am about to order two new ones for the house we are building.

I'm obviously senile. I know all I care to know about Airstreams (trailers). LOL.

I'm asking about Speakman 'Anystream' shower heads!

Speakman says that my existing chrome head is an S-2252 (the "Icon" model). They say the 'works' are the same as mine on all the 6-stream heads currently on the market.

I see complaints about the 'Hotel' models and about 8-streams. (Well, duh, six streams would always be stronger than dividing the water into eight, right?)

I think I will buy a new Anystream head, either the "Retro" or the "Vintage", in BN (brushed nickel). The existing control is a Kohler BN; don't know if I need or will get a new control. This is 'meh'. I don't like the spots on BN, but it's all over this bathroom now. (sigh)

I am returning the Moen Banbury 5 with 'spot resist' because reviewers don't like the wimpy spray. (Isn't there an old song about how you can't ever get whatcha want?)

it's very easy. check it out on youtube. you'll need a wrench and some teflon tape - plus the new shower head. when tightening the new one wrap a rag around it so it doesn't get scratched by the wrench. In my old place the shower head needed changed out about once a yr so I just bought one for under 10.00 at W. I need one in my new (old) hall bath because it doesn't even have one. I plan to get another cheapie for there because I doubt it'll ever be used.

My Speakman Anystream Arrived!

Plumber came today to install the Anystream. It's S-2255BN First shower coming up tonight. All the Anystreams have the same 'innards', with infinite adjustment from soft to hard spray via six nozzles that go in and out in the head. We've had Anystreams before. I think this has a water-saver screen inside, but the plumber was reluctant to remove what appears to be *it*. Plumber is returning this week for other work. I've emailed Speakman to ask exactly where the thing is and how to remove it. (I'll be 'green' in other ways. I want the full 2.5 water pressure.)
