Reveal! Only took a year...
Comments (53)I will be putting a desk area in my kitchen for the same reason -- we need a place to drop off phones, keys, mail, etc. Don't we all need some sort of dumping ground? Our previous kitchen didn't have one, so we always had a messy little spot of counter with that stuff. Now we will have a dedicated place for charging, with a few drawers for items like paper clips, rubber bands, envelopes, stamps, and other detritus. It won't sit in the main part of the kitchen any more! Also, I love how you handles the ceilings -- we will be doing something similar to disguise a beam....See MoreKitchen Reveal - Brown Painted Kitchen
Comments (14)We replaced both our lazy susans. On one side we did a stack of drawers. The paint color is the same on both sides, there must a shadow on the photo causing the different paint color impression. The other side we turned into a recycling center. With the dead space between the pullouts, we store extra bags, stepstool, and the sharps container (our older dog now has diabetes). Comments (55)Another place where it looks not only like a completely different kitchen, but so much bigger! You really planned your space well. Re: Your china hutch. I've been working with some specialty paints called CC Caldwell and Reclaim I found online sold by this lady, Patty Henning out of Detroit. I'm a former Michigander. :) Anyway, she specializes in finishing. Faux, refurnishings, techniques, stenciling, etc. I immediately thought of some of her colors over that pretty red. So before you touch up, check her out. I think it's fabfinishes.org, but usually I just search "Patty Henning". Back to you: Enjoy it. It's absolutely beautiful....See MoreSleepover activities with a five year old and a seven year old
Comments (50)Robo, it sounds like you had fun! I missed this post so I'm glad you gave an update. Mayflowers, thank you so much for the colored salt jar idea. That can be one of the crafts I do with my grandsons next time we do a sleepover. My DGSs spent the night last night. I got out my markers, colored pencils, oil pastels, graphite pencils and an assortment of papers. While they were working on their drawings I was playing music. My oldest DGS asked if it was Beethoven. As soon as they were finished with their project they had out their iPads and were listening to Whip NaeNae. I videoed the oldest DGS doing the dance and we sent it and pictures of their artwork to Mom. Bedtime is still a problem with the boys, they are only fifteen months apart and they pick on each other unmercifully at bedtime. I'm going to order a cot bunk bed for them as the second queen size inflatable mattress bit the dust....See MoreKimberly Murphy
