Show me your green backsplash
Comments (24)Nomad, thanks for your support! What are your tiles like? What are you leaning toward for grout? re: Antique White - that is also one of the colors in the Custom Grout Solutions polyblends sample set we have. So there must be a few brands with that same name. Here's ours, still not quite done but you get the idea. Funny after all the agonizing, I don't remember the name of the brand. The color is Silverado. I can find out the brand if you like. It might be a touch darker than we wanted, but it's probably not fully dry yet. Either way, I'm not going to second guess it now! Good luck with your search!...See MorePlease show me photos of your Fire and Ice Backsplashes!
Comments (10)Jodi, your kitchen is absolutely beautiful - Great Job! It's so warm and inviting. Your slide show is fantastic and helpful. I'm on the East Coast so I have to find a supplier for the back splash somewhere around here. You say you added the umber glass, the reddish and clearer ones are already integrated in the back splash, correct? Also, where did you get that grass wallpaper and what color is it. My home is older and the walls are less desirable, so that might just be a good choice for me. Also, What are your color cabinets? Thanks for taking the time to do that slide show, it helped me "gel" all the thoughts in my mind. Have a great day, Maggie...See MoreShow me your multi-colored subway tile backsplash
Comments (24)olivertwist - thank you-it is my favorite thing in our kitchen. It was easy to install also (it comes on a mesh). I think they have 4 variations, so check the link to see if there is another that you like better. They are all quite different. Be sure you get samples in person. You can also 'enhance' it with a certain kind of sealer that deepens it but we chose not to. I wouldn't say a lot of green. When I look at it I see quite a bit of variation but if I had to pick one color that stood out I think the slate gray does because its darker than the others. There are red (some moving into a pink if you can believe that) tones, clay or an olive green color, orange/rust. I have attached a couple of close ups I just took. The first one is with flash and the under cabinet lights on. The next is with the uc lights off but the kitchen light is on. If you want one in natural light I can catch one tomorrow since it's already pitch dark out....See MorePlease show me your dark backsplash!
Comments (17)Haha, that "pepper mill" one was one of my favorite kitchens for years. But for our house, I wanted the wood floor of the house to continue into the new kitchen, so we went with high gloss white cabs. We painted one wall in super flat charcoal to see if we would like it. And we do. A lot. So no tile as of yet and maybe never, as I really like to see my daily used items on the open shelf pop in front of just paint, vs. seeing tile behind. Any splashes wash off cleanly without any damage to the paint. Good thing that flat latex paints have come a long way since I last used them years ago. As suggested above, paint before buying tile and you'll soon know if matte charcoal will work with the douglas fir cabs. (Make sure you install really good UC lighting!) So I don't have wood fronts, but here is a pic of my kitchen anyway: it's still not quite finished, the steel bs missing behind the cooktop....See Moretinker_2006
