Where did you find the most affordable place for

Interior door hardware? Exterior entry door handle/ dead bolts and interior passage/privacy door knobs/levers? We found some on amazon that are reasonable prices but it still totals $700. Yikes! We are on a tight budget.

If you found the manufacturer, make, and model you like, I would just search the web for the best price. Use Google, then check out the big box store sites like Home Depot, Lowes, and Menards. Menards often has a sale where you can get 11% back in the form of a store credit. Door hardware adds up depending on how many exterior and interior doors you have. That price seems pretty reasonable unless you only have a few doors. While you don't necessarily need all brass hardware, good quality door hardware is worth the price (personally not an area of the build I would skimp on).

We have a Habitat for Humanity Re-Store - where excess builder inventory gets donated and can be purchased by the public - sometimes there are some really nice / more commercial hardware for sale. I've also had good experience with folks like Build.com

Find local wholesaler in your area and call to see if you can find it for less. I bought my 9x18 honed calacatta gold from a place in northern Jersey and my 4x4 honed from a place in southern Jersey for $13 and $15 respectively. You're not going to get any better than that and you'll be limited by available square footage at those prices because they were for the last amounts in their respective lots (i.e., a clearance price that I was told was only slightly above their cost). It is flawless stone, however. (Even $20 is inexpensive and I would question what it would look like and would require a sizable sample set for inspection, particularly to avoid the black flecks I have seen in more recent lots. Keep in mind that it's critical that you get stone that is all from the same lot, and if your price of $20 doesn't include stone all from the same lot, I'd walk away. This is my first experience with a potfiller and didn't know if I would ever use it. I find I do use it for the pasta and canning pots as well as adding water to sauce pans. I use it more than I thought I might. When the plumber asked what height to stub out the pipe, the KD suggested 12" above counter height and centered. But I chose to put it at 14" to allow for the height of the cooktop grates plus the height of my tall pots, and it turned out to be centered vertically between the counter and vent hood. I also chose to put it centered over the left burners of the cooktop. I seem to use the left more often than the right side of the 5 burner cooktop, and it doesn't fully reach the front right burner, but that's ok with me. Another reason was aesthetics. I chose the Moen potfiller and when it is folded back against the wall, I preferred the look of it stubbed over the left vs being stubbed out centered, which when folded back, looked off balance to me. It seems everyone has their own preferences and reasons for placement. Like most things, it's whatever works for you!

Well, the Frigidaire is certainly "more affordable", but it's, well, a Frigidaire and pretty crappy. Look at Bertazzoni if you value looks. If you value performance, look at NXR, Capital, or Blue Star. Those will actually give you the ability to sear your stir fry. But, ALL of these will need an upgraded ventilation system, and that upgraded ventilation system may possibly need make-up air in your location. You're not picking something in isolation here. It's all chosen to work together.

I'm so glad to hear you cancelled that order with Michigan Bulb Company. The large bulb producers in Holland run the Tulips and daffodils through different sized screens to save the large healthy bulbs. Michigan Bulb Company purchases the tiny rejects which fall through the screens. You would be greatly disappointed in the junk they would send you. I too recommend Van Bourgondien, or Brecks. Brecks has a seperate landscapers catalog selling in bulk at great prices if you need something like 300 bulbs of one variety. Good luck with your gardens.

Watch for sales and price match!!!

I bought all my interior door handles in oil rubbed bronze at Rona. They were around $30 regular on a 2 day sale for $11.99. I bought 12 or 13 sets. I haven't seen them for that price since but have seen them for $12.99.

My front door/lock set I spent more on because it's all about curb appeal. It was the Weiser Ashfield set. I think it was around $219 plus tax.

I purchased my Weiser Keyless entry for my mudroom (in from the garage) on sale for around $60.

For the same door and my back garage door, I found handles on clearance at Rona. $24.99 with 20% off.

In total I probably spent about $400. It also all depends on the style you want. Obviously nicer or more intricate styles are going to be more expensive as well as colour. Good ole chrome or brushed nickel is always cheaper than oil rubbed bronze, black etc. In the end, I only ever looked at Home Depot, Lowes, Home Hardware and Rona (yes I'm from Canada too!) They are all pretty much the same price everywhere.
