Seattle Sue, another May queen birthday
Comments (31)Thank you all so much! I've been away from the computer for awhile tending to a cellulitis attack that's now diminishing nicely. No fun, though - don't try it! Andrea, wouldn't it be fun to clog? 'specially if I was lighter on my feet, I'd volunteer in a second. Thank you so much for the beautiful Senateur Amic. I've not seen it before and it's lovely . Melva, yup, I got your email. Just can't do any digging for awhile, so tell that Texas heat to hold off a bit, okay? Olga, thank you so much for the birthday wishes. Marji's mom in Rockville had hoped to join you all at the Maryland gathering but we were sidetracked with my illness and didn't get her the information in time. But since there were great photos of your garden, I'll encourage her to look at them. If you see a lady being chauffered through your neighborhood by her handsome son and peering into gardens, it's probably Marilyn searching for your roses! Susan, thank you so much for the birthday wishes. It's wonderful to hear from you. I'm so enjoying the saga of your garden and the results of your pruning and moving. More photos, because they're stunning! Melissa, what a splendid pressure to exert, that I MUST come to Italy. Oh break my heart! Yours is the first rose garden I'll visit and I so look forward to meeting you. Thank you for thinking of me on my birthday. Krista, can you email me again, please? Either because of spam-fear or a very high fever, I deleted it without reading. Forgive me! Sue Sue...See MoreUPDATE: Birthday Extravaganza Birthday Buddies for April #2
Comments (51)Hi everyone, Sorry I've ebeen AWOL for awhile. Spring is always such a busy time. I've been trying to get the yard & gardens cleaned up. DH is expecting to start a new job in a couple of weeks, its suppose to pay about twice as much. He'll be driving OTR again with only one day home per week so we're trying to get stuff here taken care of beforehand (building GH, fixing stuff, etc).He gave his current job his 2 wk notice just 2 days ago and they called today letting him go (on his day off)! Now we're really hoping the new job is as good as it sounds!! I got the last of my WS potted yesterday. Out of 160+ jugs there were only about 15-20 that didn't sprout...not bad I guess for my first WS attempt. I'm waiting for my BIL to till my new gardens so I can plant stuff...alot of my potted seedlings have bloomed! Bluebonnets, Lacy Phacelia, and Nasturtiums of every color! I hope they're still blooming by the time I get them in the gardens! Kym, thanks for sending the May list in advance! At least I won't get behind on that! LOL I'm fine with recieving emails from forum members...sounds like you have an interesting game up your sleeve. Count me in! I hope all April Bday buddies are having a wonderful BDay month!!!!! Comments (50)EarthLy, The box has been FOUND!!! "Dear" son had picked it up with the rest of the mail earlier in the week on the way to his babysitting job. Since he picks up three boys after school, he had put everything in the trunk of the car so there would be room for the boys. Thank you for saying something. What wonderful surprises you sent, too, my friend. First of all I do love the Hershey's chocolates that you sent. But my gosh!!! What a HUGE chocolate covered caramel candy bar you sent. I've never seen one so big. Gotta love it! Did you make the zuchinni relish? I opened it up right away and tried a little bit on a teaspoon. It is sooo good. Thank you for sharing! I will be taking the hot chocolate mix to school to have on my break. It always tastes so good in the wintertime with a little piece of candycane in it. Such a cute little bag you put it in, too. :) I am just thrilled with the purple sensation allium and double narcissus bulbs that you sent! I don't have either one of them. Even though we have snow, hubby says the ground is still soft so I can still go put them out. The ceramic Christmas candles are absolutely darling, too. They are so cute! One with a Santa, another with a gingerbread boy, and the other with a snowman. Then on the other side of them one says Happy Holidays, another says Seasons Greetings, and the third says Merry Christmas. I have already put them out on display in the front sitting room. Lastly, I just adore the sunflower sharing bottle. It is way cool! To me it is a very meaningful gift from you to me that I will always treasure and have for a memory of you. Maryanne, you are a gift and a treasure to me and to others on GW. I think others would agree with me. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and sharing. Mellen...See More- 10 years ago
