Non-paintable caulk used on interior by installer- options to fix?

We recently had our window replaced. Overall the job was done within our expectations. I know I told them my plan was to prime and paint the previously stained interior trim which was in poor condition, but the installer used non-paintable caulk on the interior windows. (The outsides were capped with aluminum, so that seems ok)

I am trying to figure out the best remediation to request. I'm a reasonable person, but this seems like a bit of work to fix. Do I ask them to recaulk the windows? - would be a lot of work. There is enough room to put a piece of quarter round trim to cover the non-paintable area, then caulk that with paintable caulk- is this a bad idea?

Any other ideas?

Thanks!
