Garden Boots
Comments (13)Don't know the name of mine, but got them at local Farm supply store. Look like the wellies. But I find them hard to pull off, esp. if muddy and don't want to get my hands or gloves muddy. In winter I don't have my hose connected. Somewhere I have seen similar boots that have a pull down or pull across flap with maybe velcro so they are easier to get out of. I keep them outside the door and stuffed with a wad of newspaper in case spiders or snakes or something goes in there....See Moregraduation gifts
Comments (51)I spent the evening with my niece.. we tried on, selected and purchased her new raybans. Unfortunately the color we liked best doesn't come polarized.. but she loves the ones we chose. (And I found a pair of versace glasses that we both loved for me! I am glad I stalled buying them because I found them online much cheaper-- which is good because I need to have prescription lenses put in them) Just wanted to return and share that she LOVES the duluth pack above-- but she does already have a bag she plans to use. She has a tall pair of hunter boots (which I thought) but she did say she wants a short pair too (it's all about the socks over the boots!) So all of these are good suggestions. She also mentioned lululemon leggings. Again, hope others are able to use some of these ideas! So many great ones. Thank you all again! I will be saving this for Christmas ideas as well....See MoreMud boots and rainforest clothing
Comments (56)I wear muck boots for field work and I definitely recommend high boots. If it's REALLY mucky, it will suck your boots off your feet! Some people use gore tex boots, but I like the rubber ones myself. I have to replace mine every couple of years, but they're cheap enough-and I use mine for rough terrain hiking in all kinds of weather. Mine are the ones linked from Tractor Supply. I'd bring some kind of walking stick-it will make all the difference. I just wear cotton blend socks with my boots and I put foot powder in them and stuff them with newspapers between wearing. Never wear them with shorts-you can get all kinds of scratches, bug bites, snakes, etc-so even if it's humid as all get out, wear jeans! A field vest is always a great option, you can carry all your supplies (especially bug spray, kleenex, etc). A fishing vest works just as well. I'm too tired to think of the company many field staff use to buy gear but when I think of it I'll let you know....See MoreNeed recs for good supportive work boots
Comments (16)i wear them 24/7/365 .. yeah.. i even sleep in them ... and they last 2 to 3 years ... i usually get a blow out in the sole ... that lets water in ... as noted ... i fill them with hot water and a part scoop of laundry detergent once or twice a year ... let them stand an hour or so ... then throw them in the washer with some rag towels ... i have the short shoe type ... i prefer to let them dry in summer out in the sun ... i am pretty sure.. a hot dryer would not be good as they age ... and my god.. all that thumping ... lol .. so i try to wash them in spring and fall .. to avoid the dryer ... ken...See MoreUser
