Hand held shower head--what brands? What pieces?
Comments (13)You also need a wall supply. Depending on the handshower you choose, you may also need a separate check valve. I was told in a showroom, that Moen puts their check valves in their handheld shower, so the wall supply doesn't have one. But, you can buy one. Hansgrohe, however, doesn't put one in their handshower, and you can buy a wall supply with or without the check valve (I believe), so you need to make sure you buy the right one. It is okay to have more than one check valve, but you want to make sure you have one....See MoreHand Held Shower Head with Great Pressure? Not All Plastic?
Comments (3)Most are plastic now, even the higher end ones. I didn't love it either but the Kohler rep explained that it was a safety thing for dropping it against the glass or on your feet. The shower head will state what GPM it flows at a given PSI. If you don't have sufficient pressure it will trickle down to your shower head. also look at your water supply. Make sure the head you select has easy clean outlets to avoid build up I have Danze Nourish with 4 different streams. Dh likes the jet type setting. I like the rain one. We are both happy....See Moreretrofit hand held shower directly in place of shower head arm
Comments (2)I don't see why you couldn't connect your hose directly to the shower arm without a diverter. I think the connections are all pretty standard. Shower arm, shower head, shower hose, and diverter all use the same screw in type connection. Use a good teflon tape (I like the thicker ones, not the thin white ones) and it should be water tight. Watch a youtube video on how to wrap the teflon tape to be sure you go in the right direction. If there is a rubber washer some times you don't need the teflon tape. You might just want to get a longer shower hose. This one is 8ft. 8 ft shower hose They make them even longer. Longer shower hose If you need the whole assembly, this one comes with the 8 ft shower hose. We buy this set-up and then put our own rainfall shower head on it but since you don't need the shower head you could just use the wand with the diverter always set to the hose. It has 3 pressure settings. We use the highest pressure for washing our dogs and the extra hose length comes in handy. It also provides a nice spa like experience for muscle massage. waterpik with hand held...See MorePlumbing Recommendation for Shower Head, Hand Held and Tub Spout
Comments (12)Hi Esme Would love to help you out but not sure what additional information I can provide. What we have works, a diverter tub spout, but It is frustrating when guests use the shower because to send the water to the shower you must pull down on the bottom of the spout and it is not obvious that this piece is there or how to use it. I had wanted a single 3-way diverter that would have diverted the water to the 3 outlets but my plumber goofed from what he told me to purchase for fixtures to the way his workmen plumbed the pipes and valve. I have replaced the 3-way/6 function trim/cartridge which had 3 positions with no water (what would have been tub only, Tub + shower head, Tub + hand held) with a 2 way/3 function diverter. My new plumber was refusing to install the 2-way diverter stating that it wouldn't work properly despite the install instructions that the same rough in valve worked with either the 3-way or 2-way. The Trim Kit included the cartridge so the new 2-way fixture included a compatible cartridge. He installed it, just to prove me wrong, and it worked as I expected! He said he had a customer with the same issue and took the instructions and box so he could recommend how to fix her problem. These are Brizo/Delta Valves and Trim. I don't think the set up I ended up with is the best diverter set up. However, I received conflicting feedback from the Showroom, who consulted their Delta Rep, and the Delta Customer Service, that I contacted, on whether or not Option A (3-way diverter) would work. Good Luck! I really felt like I was the first person to want a tub, shower and hand held configuration with the amount of confusion with the Showroom, Delta and my Plumber....See Moreanitamo
