I'm hungry this morning!

I don't usually have hunger pangs in the morning, and when I do my usual green 'sludgie' just won't cut it!

I'm low carb eater....except for the sludgie....so it looks like a spicy omelet might be on the menu!

One or two eggs filled with some homemade salsa from last night and a little pepper jack cheese.

What did you have or will have for breakfast?

I haven't had breakfast and I don't usually eat until after I finish my morning chores, which is around 10. I will probably have a piece of steak for breakfast. I bought some last night and I need to package it up for the freezer and I will probably saute a little piece in a frying pan for my breakfast.

A cup of coffee, a cup of juice, and a slice of my homemade whole wheat English muffin loaf with butter on half, and jam or cream cheese on the other half (gotta have some variety in life.)

I'm doing core so I don't count points except wpa's. But if I'm having a "hungry" day --- I hit something creamy and something crunchy! FF/sugar-free puddings are my lifesavers along with ff/sugar-free fudge bars. And then -- I don't go anywhere without my bag of carrots and a bottle of water. Like a pacifier!!!! The only way I can get thru them. I'm 52 and still have that TOM! Only thing I crave is chocolate! So I feel your pain!! Cathy

Hey, Ron...I go to Leo's! My favorite ribs tho are from Joe's Barbecue in Alvin, but they are different from the riblets from Leo's. Both delicious. I'm hungry for some shrimp...real shrimp, not that farm raised stuff from China. I'd like to have some home made shrimp gumbo, made with big shrimp and lots of them, or some shrimp creole...also made with big shrimp. My husband has a shrimp boat but has taken a different job now, but will still be shrimping on his time off...and this time, mostly for us. I'd also like to have some good, fresh fried oysters. About two and a half dozen should be enough for me.

We have a very large master bedroom, a small sized "dressing room" and a smaller bathroom off of that. When we were looking to buy, DH said, "The bathroom is sorta small....." How much time will you spend there? Ya shower for 10 minutes, you poop for 15 minutes and then come out and join us all in the family room with your newspaper tucked under your arm...... I cringe when I see realty adds - "Large master bedroom with walk in closets" Who needs that much room when you spend maybe 30 minutes a day in there with your eyes open? Now, kitchens is another matter.......LOL

I like your breakfast marilyn :-).

I'm hungry every morning because I get up at 3 a.m., hubby gets up shortly before 4 a.m., we exercise for an hour, and have breakfast between 5:15 and 5:30.

This morning we had a slice of French Toast made with homemade high-protein, gluten-free bread (re-heated because I make the entire loaf into French Toast and freeze it), homemade turkey sausage, fresh grapefruit segments (thanks to my sister who picked them where she lives in Texas and shipped them to us ;-), wheatgrass juice (I grow my own wheatgrass and juice it) cut with homemade pineapple kefir water to make it taste "better" (nothing like drinking something that tastes like you were licking the bottom of your lawn mower).

I had a smoothie later that is a delivery system for supplements I take: a mixture of homemade milk kefir, homemade water kefir, 50/50 mixture of ground chia seeds and flaxseed (I mill it myself), Hi-Maize Resistant Starch, unflavored whey protein isolate, and a powdered supplement. As my grown daughter mentions when she visits... I don't know what half the things you have in the refrigerator ARE, let alone know how to eat them (LOL)!

I will have the same thing for breakfast that I have eaten every day of my life...three pieces of toast with grape jelly and a cup of coffee, followed by my many vitamins. Already had the vitamins that have to be taken on an empty stomach after doing my oil pulling treatment.

My weekday morning breakfast doesn't vary too much. Steel cut oats with a banana, a tablespoon of maple syrup and a quarter cup of milk. Two cups of coffee and a vitamin. Weekend breakfasts include eggs and some meat (bacon or sausage).

On vacation starting tomorrow so breakfast will be interesting and varied. Chilaquiles, migas, eggs in different styles, enchiladas.....fresh fruit every day. Very little bread but lots of corn tortillas!

I will have a bowl of cereal. My son bought a box of donuts yesterday and I could't resist having one with my coffee at 6:30AM.

Around 7:45, I had a cup of coffee, a bowl of cereai with a sliced banana, and a slice of Glenda's banana bread. I made it last week, sliced the loaf into three or four two serving packages--one for husband and one for me--then froze them. It's useful to be able to get a small package from the freezer for us. It defrosts, quickly, and is so good. Thanks, Glenda.

Everyday, I start the day with high fiber cereal, almond milk and dried blueberries. I prefer fresh blueberries, but they were staining my teeth.

Janey, I had your breakfast when I was living in the dorm attending college :o)

mawheel, so glad you are enjoying the banana bread. It's so easy and so good!

I usually eat hot cereal for breakfast, such as steel cut oats or Red River cereal with milk, yogurt and an orange. Breakfast was delayed today because I had an early morning meeting, so was very hungry when I got back home. I had "toad in a hole" - fry a piece of bread with a hole cut into it, drop in an egg and some cheese. Yummy! Have an orange every morning.

I eat a brunch around noon. A panini made with heavy grained cranberry bread with hardboiled egg, mashed w/ half an avocado, walnuts, and cranberries grilled with mozzarella cheese. A bowl of blueberries, raspberries, cherries, blackberries, watermelon, banana. I have this every day year round except the produce gets expensive in the winter. Everything is now from Chile.

My breakfast is always about the same....a bowl of high fiber cereal, a small handful of almonds, frozen blueberries, almond milk, and a small glass of prune juice....my must have!...some times I add a small banana also.

My breakfast is usually eggs or leftovers. I had 3 soft boiled eggs from a local farmer this morning for breakfast. I also usually have fruit, and lately it's been half a grapefruit.

And a mug of coffee, no milk nor sweetener.

I had my usual...Carnation Breakfast Essentials, (rich milk chocolate) with a spoonful of peanut butter mixed in, and graham crackers. Now it is time for my snack, which will be like Janey's breakfast, except I will have potato chips with my Coke.

I just had breakfast (though the timing and meal are more like lunch). Butternut ravioli (commercial). I did a quick and dirty version of aglio e olio with some pecorino romano on top. (There were going to be fresh peas, also, but they went off.) And a chocolate cookie. It was supposed to be a banana, but it was overripe and I couldn't face it. The cookie wasn't as sweet. :) I haven't been shopping due to the rain, and the produce is getting dire..

I start the morning the same way 6 out of 7 days - a banana, coffee and a glass of water before heading out to the gym or for a run. I only work out 6 days a week but also on Sunday I add a handful of almonds as we go for a longer run.

When I come back I always have a piece of cheese and then either toast or cereal or a bagel with peanut butter. So very boring. I'm egg-intolerant (not allergic as my nephew is so I can eat them in baking) so no breakfast eggs for me.

Three caplets of glucosamine sulphate daily, so the day starts with the first one.

Told son the other day of setting steel cut oats to perk in water, with salt and a few raisins, the night before, to need less heating time in the morning, and had some of them and a banana.

Then a mug of coffee, with cream and sugar, following by recently-added calcium pill, which needs to go with food. Felt like some more, so had about 2/3 of mug of milk ...

... before I remembered that I'm to take a large glass of water, to develop a full bladder, about an hour before my radiation, today scheduled just before ten.

Made the sixteen or so miles, much of it on the freeway, safely, i.e. with no urinary-style accidents.

And now ... time for another glucosamine sulphate.

Stacey MB ... I'm surprised: I thought that all of your toads in Manitoba would have gone into hibernation deep underground by this time of year.

I'm like you rhizo. I eat low carb and am usually not hungry when I first wake up. If I am I'll make an omelet with a few green onions and bell peppers. Melt some cheese on top and eat it with a little spicy salsa. Or I'll eat a jif 2 go cup with a dark chocolate Royale atkins shake. I usually work nights so on those nights I work if I wake up hungry I'll grab a cheese stick or hard boiled egg or two to hold me until I can get to work and cook a meal. I work 12 hour shifts and am not allowed to leave once I get here so my employer has provided us with a fridge, stove and oven so Im lucky enough to be able to cook real food when I'm working.

Today though, I wasn't in the mood so I stopped at newks on the way to work and got a huge and yummy chefs salad(no croutons) for breakfast.

"Toad in the hole" made me laugh. Yes, I knew what it was but it reminded me of my little daughter. At the time, I was very active in the Waterlily Society and grew many waterlilies and bog plants and of course we had lots of frogs and toads around the place and I was always pointing them out to my daughter and explaining more than she probably wanted to know about what kind they were, etc. Her favorite breakfast was French Toast, except she called it "French Toads". I guess that sounded normal to her....considering all the talk about frogs and toads we had. To this day....she has long ago grown up....my husband and I call it French toads. ;)
