Comments (4)Because there is a flex line between the gas outlet and the Bluestar, the only condition is that the gas outlet (and a small shut off valve) sit below the back of the range and between the legs. The outlet can be in the wall (set low) or in the floor under the range- but it has to clear the legs. Same with the electric outlet. Either outlet could be to the side of the range, but then it would show and affect anything that would later go against that wall....See MoreCan we talk about Stainless BS w/warming shelf over range?
Comments (14)beekeeperswife- Our Garland range (the precursor to Bluestar) is 36" wide, with a 36" wide shelf and ss backsplash (not tiled in, it's a sheet of ss). The hood is 42" and where the range hood meets the backsplash there is about 1.5" gap on either side. It does not bother us, but we're not that detail oriented, YMMV. The warming shelf is a great place to store the kitchen timer, mortar & pestle, salt shakers and pepper mill, and a great plate warmer. The rangehood is vintage Broan, so no heat lamps, but if you are cooking either in the oven or on the rangetop, the plates will warm up nicely there. WRT the underside getting gummed up, we're not clean freaks, and the cleanliness of the underside of anything never weighs on my mind, so I've never even looked. There is a lip, so the underside is about 2" up underneath (if that makes sense). When I clean the shelf itself I swipe the finished edge of the lip and call it good. Good luck- sandyponder...See MorePics Granite is in - Need some suggestions for BS - Bill
Comments (16)Hi Gayle, I'm glad your granite installation went well. I agree with remodelfla. Actually, I was going to suggest the same thing: picking up the other color in your granite like the gray. I love the jerusalem gold mosaic tile but I think it will blend too much with your cabinets. I'm excited. I ordered my backsplash tile from Sonoma tilemakers. I'm doing a subway as my field tile and accent behind my stove in the tantrum rhomboid shape combination of glass, metal and stone. I hope the percentages of each of the tiles I chose gives me a nice blend. It'll take about 3 to 4 weeks to deliver so I won't have pictures until then....See Moreredwolfdoc_z5
