We bought the 22 cu./ft French door/bottom freezer about two years ago. First unit came in damaged; second unit came in damaged. Ended up with a big discount from Sears and kept the second. . Pros: Very good at holding proper temps. Stainless is very easy to keep smudge free. Love adjustable shelves. Cons: Our model has no way to turn the "open" door alarm off -- beeps WAY too soon. Make sure the veggie and fruit bins are on rollers. Water dispenser way too slow.

We have a Sears Treo French door and like it pretty well. We've had it about a year with no problems. It has water through the door. There are a couple things we don't like. Although a glass fits okay under the water spigot I can't use a pitcher because the recess is too shallow. Also when the ice bin gets full ice falls out when we pull the rack open. I also like the way the Samsung doors close more positively than the Sears. Although there is an alarm that tells you if the door is ajar I just like the door to close when I nudge it rather than having to push it shut. We are going to be building a new home hopefully this fall and at present I'm planning to have the Samsung French door with ice and water through the door. I'm buying a basic Whirlpool top freezer refrigerator in white to place next to my upright Whirlpool white freezer in the utility/hobby room. That way I'll have enough refrigerator space for all my veggies, sauces, condiments etc. I love to cook and really need a walk-in but can't afford it. Hope this helps you a bit. If you don't mind the couple inconveniences I mentioned go with the Sears Treo. I think ours was around $1600.

We have the GE Profile FD and love it. It was our third new fridge in 6 weeks, as we went through two Bosch SxS models, neither of which would cool. The GE's been great...no issues at all, and because of the previous problems, I keep a fridge thermometer in it all the time...it holds its temp perfectly. We've had it for two months (admittedly, not long) and I'd give it 4.5 stars. DH insisted we had to have water in the door, so that ruled out lots of FD models. My only (small) complaint is the water well that catches drips in the door is quite small, and it sometimes overruns onto the floor when it's full and we swing the door open. But that's a small problem and infrequent. Would definitely buy it again...

The Thermador T36BT920NS Freedom Series 36 Inch Built In Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator ($9300) was very highly rated by Consumer Reports and, per CR, Thermador's built-in refrigerator predicted reliability is "Excellent". However Bosch's reliability for a similar product is also "Excellent" and it's one-third the price or less: Bosch B36CT80SNS 800 Series 36 in. 21 cu. ft. French 3 Door Refrigerator in Stainless Steel with Dual Compressor, Counter-Depth ($2789) Bosch B36CT81SNS 800 Series 36 in 21 cu ft French Door Refrigerator in Stainless Steel with Dual Compressor, Pro Handles, Counter-Depth ($3149) If you're going to compare fridges, you should compare apples to apples. A counter depth is NOT the same thing as a built in. The Thermador is NOT the same as the two Bosch ones you show. The comparable Bosch is the B36BT930NS. It's listed for $8299. I have the panel ready built in Bosch version of this fridge and I think it's excellent. And yes the Bosch has dual compressors. We went with the Bosch over the Thermador because we got a rebate (well we were supposed to until the builder screwed that up too) because we were doing a Bosch cooktop and oven, so with the third piece, we were supposed to get a 12% discount. There are only very slight differences between the Thermador and the Bosch and it has nothing to do with performance.
