Help with pantry ideas....
Comments (5)I recently finished a pantry project (link to thread below) and while ours is a little bigger I think you could still do U-shaped shelves like we did, rather than just deep shelves straight across the back. Things get lost so easily on the deep shelves. Our back ones are 15" deep and even that is deeper for most things than really necessary. Here is a link that might be useful: My pantry thread, with pics...See Morepantry ideas other than shelves?
Comments (7)I use Metro units for a lot of storage. For appliances, I don't like it so well unless the appliances are stored in their boxes (and some are, to ward off the dust). The feet of the appliances slip between the wires, and if they go through in one spot but sit atop the wire on the other side, well, they are cattywhompus. Same for small items. So you need trays, dishdrainer bases, etc, under some things. I do like that you can hang baskets and hooks on the metro for more storage. i do like the Container Store's elfa. I use that as much as the Metro! And you can get freestanding elfa if you really don't want to drill holds along the top of the wall. But there is so much flexibility with elfa, including adding drawers, varying depths of shelves, option for a counter in the middle, flat hanging against the back wall, etc. and you can mix wire and solid shelving. Container Store has a good sale 25% off the shelving in late July-August, and 30% off all elfa in December-early February....See MoreNeed pantry ideas
Comments (8)I would call california closets or another closet organizer company to consult. I did this with my pantry and they came up with some brilliant ideas. Of course they will only share the plans with you if you buy from them (which is only fair). I consulted with them on my laundry and they were excellent on that too. However I just used them for my pantry And my contractor did my laundry (which was not as precision planned as the CC designer). There is no obligation but it might be worth the time to talk them....See MoreKitchen Pantry ideas
