Anyone else following the Ethan Couch saga?

I'm interested because he and his family are from my area, and also because Ethan and his mother fled the country and went, of all places, to Puerto Vallarta - a frequent vacation destination for DH and me, as well as millions of other tourists annually. There is a very large ex-pat contingent in PV too, and it just boggles my mind that they would choose to go there, presumably not expecting to be recognized and caught.

That Ethan Couch's lawyers are fighting against his deportation is, I suppose, what lawyers do - but it's maddening. He and his parents continue to come across as arrogant punks - all of them - and that they also continue to drag out their ridiculous ploys in the judicial system when clearly Ethan's actions caused multiple deaths and permanent disabilities and it is his duty to "do the time" (however light his sentence may have been) is absurd.

Here's the latest news story ...

And here's an article from D Magazine that I read recently, although it's an older article. Perhaps it's not my place to judge, but I believe it would be really, really hard to actually find many redeeming qualities in these people.
