Please pass me a bloody caeser! My favorite drink, now. Had my first ones in Vancouver, and now I prefer that over a bloody mary. But it has to be made by someone that knows how to make a good one They originated in Canada.

Last bloody mary I had was unusual at the Shula's Hyatt House, The Galleria, Birmingham, and they put a crispy slice of bacon in the glass with the usual. Good stuff.

Now this is one fine Cajun bloody Mary! I wish it was mine.

Use either V8 or Clamato juice instead of regular tomato juice.

Back in the 70's when Super Bowl was held early in the day, I use to make this one for my Super Bowl Brunch:

2 46 oz. tomato juice, chilled, 2 10 1/2 oz. beef broth, chilled, 5 C. vodka, chilled, 2/3 C. lemon juice, 2 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 tsp Tabasco

Mix together and put in punch bowl. Float lime slices. 24 servings

(I added 1 T. seasoned salt, 1 tsp. ground pepper, 1 T. celery salt, 2 tsp. celery seed.)

The most recent recipe I tried is:

3 large stalks celery including leaves, 36 oz. tomato juice (recommended Sacramento) 2 tsp. horseradish, 1 tsp. grated onion, 1 lemon, juiced, 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 tsp. celery salt, 1/4 tsp. Kosher salt, 12 dashes Tabasco sauce, 1 1/2 C. vodka

Cut celery in large dice, including leaves. Puree in food processor. Process until finely minced.. In large pitcher, combine remaining ingredients except vodka. With processor running, pour 1/4 of tomato mixture into food processor through feed tube. Then pour contents of processor into pitcher with remaining tomato mixture. Add vodka and chill

I think they're both good.

My husband used all the things you use plus a dash of bitters. He also used hot and spicy V8 instead of regular.

Make your drink as usual except use clamato juice instead of the tomato juice. Yum.

After all that, I made them the way I usually do. I've never liked Clamato, though I know a lot of people do! If I'm having people over for brunch, I'll provide it, but never just for us.

V8 has a Bloody. Mary mix that is spicier than V8 hot and spicy :-)
