Help with Dynasty cabinets! Tarin Door Style

Has anyone done their kitchen with the Tarin style door in natural walnut? I'm desperate to see a picture! I've asked my vendor and the company itself but no one seems to have a picture. I mainly want to see the movement and to what extent they match up the grains.

I have to order by next week and I'm deciding between the Dynasty/Omega walnut or doing Ikea boxes and Semihandmade walnut fronts. Can Dynasty accomplish the look that Semihandmade can?

I found this pic on Houzz - the cabinets are identified in the "Questions" as Dynasty Omega Tarin in Walnut with Kodiak and Riverbed finish.

Dear Syvia, I'm in the middle of cabinet installation THIS MINUTE! It's thrilling! After the guys leave I just stand in the middle of the room and turn in circles with my mouth wide open and tears in my eyes. To your question -- I have Dyansty Moxy cabinets in Oyster finish on the perimeter (a very simple style that I was having second thoughts about until NOW, because it just looks great!) and DANVILLE with the Heirloom black finish on a center island. I chose Danville for the island because I thought it would show off that antiqued finish beautifully. They haven't gotten to the island yet so I can't tell you how it looks, though I can hardly wait to see it. (Big help.) But I can tell you that the cabinets are very nice. I often hear them described as the "middle ground" cabinets which makes me laugh/cry because mine were really $$$. I feel like I over pay for everything (sob) and I probably do. My brother calls me a "fish," whatever that means (haha). Here's something that might help. I just checked the Omega/Dynasty site and it looks like the Dynasty Danville cabinet and the Omega Durham cabinet are identical. Maybe there's some difference in construction? Would narrow the field a bit for you if they were one and the same, huh? Don't think I've been much help -- but I don't think you can go wrong. t PS This is what they mean by TKO. Cruising cabinet sites on a Saturday morning, while mine are being installed. Yikes. Well, it's nice to have an opinion rather than a question for a change.

We have a mix of Omega Dynasty and their next line down in a lighter oak. I really like the look of this and the cabinets are functioning well. Originally, I wanted natural maple and was bothered by the great color variations in the store display kitchen. The oak seemed more uniform in color and was less expensive. I can't comment on the other line you're considering.

I sold Dynasty for 3 years. I loved working with them. They offered top notch quality, great customer service, and a huge amount of customization. If there was something that Dynasty couldn't do, like pocket doors on an oven cabinet for a TV above it, the sister full custom company Omega could do it. The lines dovetail seamlessly with each other so that you only need to use one or two full custom cabinets for a whole kitchen, which helped to keep costs down. The kitchens that I did in painted beaded inset averaged 35-55K and usually involved stacked cabinets, glass, wood goods, and other upscale details. The frameless line averaged from 10% less to 20% more than many American RTA lines suggested here for people to use when compared apples to apples.

Hi andreepostal, I was looking into doing the same thing with Omega cabinetry. I have seen the natural walnut at a local dealer...its Gorgeous. But the KD told me that Omega cannot promise a grain match, although they'd "do their best". Other KDs on GW and Houzz have told me that's incorrect, and Omega can do grain matching in a fully custom job at a large up charge. I don't know what to believe, as its conflicting information. I also talked to Scherrs (similar to semi handmade) and while they do grain matched natural walnut, that won't do my job. It's apparently too small for them as I'm doing a master bath, not a kitchen. If I hear anything more from Omega/Dynasty, I will let you know. Below is a picture I snapped of the walnut, hope it helps, although I presume you've already seen it.

Thank you for the picture SS. My local vendor had a sample of the walnut but not in the natural finish so that picture is very helpful! It makes me uneasy that I'm getting different answers about grain matching. So much so that I'm about to go with a different company.

This is an old post by now, but I'm struggling with the exact same issue. Dynasty vs. SemiHandmade in Walnut. The grain match is so striking on Semihandmade.... I'm totally torn. @Anrdreepostel -- what did you end up doing?

Contact the manufacturer yourself.... sometimes things change and the designers are not aware.
