Pictures of Ann Sacks's Ivory Onyx backsplash?
Comments (4)Hey chloe, thanks, I'm flattered you like the backsplash! Sorry to hear Stone Mart is out of stock. You might want to try the below link -- it's not Ann Sacks but from the photos online it looks very similar to our backsplash. Comments (16)thanks everybody for all your responses - this post was lost for a while and then found but for some reason I couldn't post to it - grr! I'm taking it all in! Soooooo many terrific ideas and opinions and pictures! I have considered each and every idea presented here. (I even found the pic of that kitchen you were thinking of, Remodelfla). I think my first choice is a stamped metal single large tile - only I don't want anything fancy or a landscape or fruit or a geo type pattern - I want something interesting or funky or something (that probably doesn't exist.) If I can't find that elusive special tile, I'll probably just do the solid mosaic all over, or doing the angled mosaic over the range. But, of course, I'm still toying with the other ideas and even picked up some more field tile to play with. I keep going back over the posts and pictures. Now I want some pie!!!...See MoreHoney Onyx Backsplash anyone? Pics????
Comments (10)great minds think alike :) as my onyx backsplash with copper glass frame is going in even as I post (forgive the "ninja" look from the spacers). our house is adobe and I thought the onyx helped keep the Southwestern feeling. I had started looking at Talavera tile but decided it was too busy against the granite. closeup The field tile is 4x4 cristal giallo tumbled onyx (sorry, can't find the source at the moment). The 1x2 brick is tumbled multi on 12x12 mesh sheets from Artistic Stone Maniscalco. The glass is honey baby bar (not doing well--don't remember that source either!). I love femmelady's backsplash too! femmelady (per her previous posts) uses bees wax to protect every so often. I pre-sealed with Miracle Enhance and Seal as I preferred the wet look and know that I'm terrible on maintenance. The unenhanced stone is much lighter. good luck!...See MoreGlass backsplash anybody?
Comments (3)Not glass, but I'm almost 100% positive that I'm going to use a colored plexiglass. I never knew they came in so many colors. The obvious "catch", it scratches easier than plastic, plus I think the wall behind it will need to be white. However, it's an easy DIY project for us cheapos. :) I'll probably not put it behind the range, though. I haven't thought that far ahead, but I always thought I'd use stainless there. A related, but not cheap, product is 3 Form's resin sheets. Here is a link that might be useful: Plexi Colors...See Morecpartist
