Quick Cabinet Advice (Or Alternatives!)

Hi there! I've been doing some scouring over Thomasville cabinets (via HD). Fully understand they're the same as Lowes' Diamond collection, and are also made by Masterbrand. My question is now around quality!

The concern is, in ten years will these kitchen cabinets look worn and bowed?
Also, is price via HD far too much...should I be looking to do someone local to make/create?

I'm looking to do a plywood outer (for where the screws go), not all particle board.

Judging by http://www.rekitchen.com/cabinets/reviews/thomasville/ - I'm very, very hesitant. However, Houzz reviews paint a different picture!

Seeking clarity from anyone on here :) A little goes a long way! Thank you.

are you in a hurry? are you pretty sure the layout you want? if you aren't in a hurry and pretty much have a lay out, call some local cabinet makers and also check out Barker and other online cabinet folks. Then you can have some things to compare. We went local cabinet maker and are happy.

Also - do a search here for cabinet quality. Very informative.

imo i felt that the thomasville was more pricey than an equivalent in say a kraftmaid(masterbrand) or medallion/schuler. contrary to what people say here, my hd and lowes were the same cost or less than going with a kitchen place. i poked at drawers and doors at the hd and lowes displays and i just felt like diamond was not as solid. i have seen some real horror stories of people having cabinets made locally so i really wanted a manufacturer to back up the warranty. i went with medallion, like the cabinets overall but wish i had gone schuler/lowes for the same cost but got the better drawer glides.

Thanks to both for your thoughts. Unfortunately, we can't set it up in the garage for now because we don't have a water line, and we really want to make sure the icemaker and internal water dispenser work properly. Plus, we'd have to pay twice-once for Sears to deliver and install, once for someone else to move the new fridge upstairs and re-install. Argh!

Quick question about alternative turkey cooking method

I decided I couldn't wait any longer, so I just ordered the 18 qt Nesco with the 2 day prime shipping. My son will cook the turkey Wed. using the make ahead directions previously suggested. Then on Thursday we will bring the cooked (and at least partially sliced) turkey to my sister's house with the Nesco so it can be plugged in/warmed up there. Hopefully I get lots of other uses out of it - have no idea where I will store it - will have to be the attic or garage!

This kitchen is similar to what I am going for. On the right of the double ovens is a wide pantry with two long doors. Just as in this photo, I wanted mine to be white for inset cabinets and navy for the pantry stove but the photo doesn't show upper area. Mine has a molding at the top of cabinets and then the soffit which I want to cover with beadboard painted to match. Would it look odd to have the soffit painted cream only in above the insets? and have a line where the soffit/beadboard color changes to navy in the corner?
