Question for those who have hardy cyclamen

Hi,

I have two cyclamen coum in my backyard. This will be their first year to come back as I planted mine in the fall of 2014. I poked around where they should be and while there are what I assume to be tons of babies (yea!), I don't see the mother plants. I didn't dig around aggressively under the leaves because I didn't want to hurt the babies.

Is it the crazy weather and it is just too warm for it to sprout or does it start very sparse so that what I am assuming are babies might be shoots from the mature rootstock (corm?).

Thanks!
