review of samsung washer dryer dv457evgsgr/wf457argswr
Comments (1)You should put this post into the Laundry section. Personally, I wouldn't use those quick-connects. I've had them pop off unexpectedly under pressure. Also, Teflon shouldn't be required since these connections all have rubber washers (no pun intended) in them. The guys who delivered my LG used a web strap (a pair) to lift the washer into position. The web strap resembled a tow strap for a car....See More~Washer-Dryer Input needed
Comments (21)"But you can't felt knitted items in a FL washer!" Ummm, yes you can ;o)...and here are the directions: Place your finished item in a mesh laundry bag or pillow case which is large enough that your project has room to lay flat and move around. Make certain that all your ends are finished off before you felt, as once the felting is complete, you'll have a hard time. Set your washing machine to HOT WASH - COLD RINSE and SMALLEST LOAD SIZE. Use just a little wool friendly detergent such as Woolite or Eucalan. Place your felting project into the washer alone. Set your washer away, and now you're felting in a front load washing machine. At the end of the cycle, remove your project and adjust to shape. If you're not yet happy with the way it has felted, then repeat the washing process again. You can wash it as many times as you like until you reach your desired result. So - felting in a front load washing machine truly is possible, but make sure you do exactly the same process with your swatch as with your finished item. That includes doing EVERYTHING the same...using the same size hook, same yarn, same cycle and measuring all the way....See MorePurchased Samsungs 448 Washer and Dryer

Comments (10)@rsunley, thesweethome review was really informative, and if I take their advice, I'm spending way less than I was starting to think I'd be spending. Thanks for the good info source! @Debbi, I called SQ and got a lot of good information. 1) the second floor install is probably OK, but you never know until you try, and although it doesn't void the warranty, a vibration/noise problem is not warrantied anyway. And, since this wouldn't be a big box 30-day return situation (a la independent dealer policies and restocking fees), it would be a pricey risk I'd be taking. In fact it's a risk the most well known dealer in my area won't take at all, as they said they wouldn't sell me a SQ FL for my second floor laundry room, only the TL. @sandiego steve pointed out they are probably thinking about the 2014s, but in any case, that's what they're saying. Also, on the phone with the tech I learned that I may have a problem with the way that my hookups are configured. I'm set up for washer on left, dryer on right. The (new) dealer I talked to today said he'd be concerned about the placement of the washer's drain and the length of hose available. He said reaching the dryer vent is no problem, but reaching the washer's drain would be. I need to do some measuring and calling back. I'm starting to think SQ is not my machine. Talking to a helpful, knowledgable tech in the US made me want it even more, though!...See Moredadoes
