Nice area to work. Check your light meter. You may have a malfunction. You should have some decent fc pull. I set mine up with the floresents and either 2 cfl's on the end or a couple hangling from the ballast in the middle pointing down either end. You can also go with 4-5 cfls over a 4 foot area. You seem to be able to set up inside the window sill. I would do 2 floresents and 2 cfls on either end depending on what you're growing. see if it works for about a month. or alternatively go with a 5-6 cfl 100's set up. spaced out evenly or clumped up 2 x 2. Those combos work for me. Lot of light questions on this board. Isn't this the board with the light wizard? They may know a better way. Mike

Most of the checkboxes there are for things that actually don't take up much room, and don't make much difference either way. These take up room and are worth deleting : Temporary Internet files Temp files (especially) Recycle bin (especially) The rest you can think of as historical traces of things you've done. If you're a privacy nut you might want to keep them checked for deletion. Otherwise, it really doesn't make much difference. For example : Run (in Start menu) Clipboard "Run" would be things you've typed into the Run box. If you deleted them, then the next time you use the Run box they won't predicatively autofill. If you're not a power user that won't make any difference to you. Clipboard - kind of the same thing. I have a clipboard add-on that saves the last 20 things I copied & pasted. Deleting that list would clear those 20 things, and i wouldn't be able to paste them again. Memory dumps & Chkdsk file fragments are, for the former, leftovers from crashes that can help diagnose those crashes, and for the latter, just file fragments of corrupted files also probably from some kind of crash. You pretty much never need them. Basically the only things you really should think of clearing out are the Temporary Internet files (the Internet Explorer cache), Recycle bin,, and temp files, all of which take up space. Those are the only things i check for deletion. You can leave Windows Error Reporting and Event files - they might help to diagnose a problem if it should come up. Everything else, it doesn't really matter either way. None of them remove actually programs or anything of the like. Good luck, Kent

I work with resin from time to time, and do know of someone that resined a window (costly), but I think the hobby resin will yellow over time. I used both Ge Silicone II and Weldbond (for the crash glass areas). Thanks Fldirt, I hadn't thought about that. I am planning on putting in the kitchen in front of the patio doors. I don't normally keep things for myself, but have decided to start.

There have always been good and bad design, builders and materials. I see it being built everyday with the garage as the front door. The main house of my project is fairly well built - to the standards of the day (balloon framing - bricks on their side for the footing etc) - the garage and studio above was not. there are many great homes and buildings that have deferred maintenance often ironically because they were a cut above - lots of trim and detail. Went to Pittsburgh and Philly a couple weeks ago - many unremarkable homes (unpretentious) in wonderfully vibrant communities. Our friend's home - pictured - was a row house - they shared a lawnmower, ladder etc. If it was the sabbath they turned on the stove for the neighbors - if they locked themselves out of the house they would borrow their key from the neighbors. No McMansions, just people that care. These people are wealthy beyond measure. Single pane glass.
