Does anyone have a source for yeast made in USA?
Comments (28)Wikipedia: Red Star Yeast Company, LLC is a joint-venture of Lesaffre, and Archer Daniels Midland Company. Red Star operates two plants in the United States—a plant in Headland, AL, and a new plant built in 2006 in Cedar Rapids, IA. Lesaffre Yeast Corporation (prior to the joint-venture) used to operate plants in Milwaukee, WI; Baltimore, MD; and Oakland, CA, but those facilities have been closed since 2006. Their corporate office is located in Milwaukee, WI. Red Star Yeast and Products was the former division of Sensient Technologies (formerly Universal Foods), which distributed the Red Star brand. Red Star Yeast was then sold to French-based Lesaffre group in 2001. In 2004, Lesaffre and Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) created the joint-venture that the company operates under today....See MoreMade in the USA??
Comments (9)Are you saying your town doesn't support recycling? On trash day, we put out our trash, and we have special containers (supplied by the town) for: A) plastics/glass/aluminum, and a bin for paper (Newspapers, etc). The towns around my area all have similar programs and it's well worth it, because while they have to pay to have the regular trash disposed of, they GET PAID for the recyclables, so it keeps our taxes down. Most of our towns also collect lawn garbage separately and compost it. One town was even passing recycling savings along to the residents--their recyclables were weighed and recorded electronically when picked up at the curb, and when they reached a certain quantity, they were sent gift cards to local stores. Unfortunately, people abused the system--they were tossing heavy, non-recyclables in, or wetting their newspapers so they'd weigh more, so the town had to stop that program. Shame, it was a nice idea. Our counties also sponsor hazardous waste collection sites/days, so you can appropriately get rid of those things you shouldn't throw into the regular trash or recyling bins. Why don't you start contacting your local, county, and state government representatives, and get some programs like that going in your area. Get some of your neighbors involved. High school kids are another great source to tap--many of them are very environmentally conscious and would be glad to help with such a project (start with the environmental science classes). There are so many benefits, on so many levels, when we properly dispose of our trash. Good luck....See MoreAre all faucets made in China ...excpet Grohe?
Comments (64)Most Delta faucets are manufactured in the US with a smattering of chinese parts, their designer line Brizo is manufactured in the US with a smattering of European parts. Hansgrohe are manufactured in the US. More expensive Grohe faucets are manufactured in Germany. California Faucets are manufactured in California for the most part. Newport Brass is US made with a smattering of European parts. Note to self if you purchase it on the internet and have never heard of the brand its garbage. As for Kohler and Moen....go to any plumbing supply house and ask them what brands they sell more parts for and those are the two names they will say. In fact, Kohler gives out our phone number for people to call for repair parts because even Kohler can't purchase aftermarket parts and or the faucet is so old, they can't identify it....See MoreAre Top Knobs cabinet hardware made in the USA?

Raw materials might be souced globally and many items use recycled brass. Good luck with your project. https://www.schoolhouse.com...See MoreK Sissy
